Verizon Prepaid Adds Galaxy J1 to Lineup

Verizon Prepaid has added yet another phone to its lineup this week. The Samsung Galaxy J1 is a compact, entry-level device aimed at users who are more interested in smartphone value and Verizon’s 4G LTE network than impressive specs. This affordable device is the latest iteration riding the wave of the Galaxy’s line’s excellent reputation. Here are some of the tech specs for the phone:
  • Android Lollipop 5.0.2
  • Samsung user interface/applications (ie TouchWiz is likely installed)
  • 1.2 GHz quad-core processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 8 GB memory
  • micro SD slot up to 128 GB
  • 5 MP back camera
  • 2 MP front camera
The Samsung Galaxy J1 is expected to retail for $99.99 unlocked through Verizon’s prepaid brand. You can purchase it here. I haven’t had a chance to play with this phone, but looking at the specs I imagine it would be good for most basic users. Verizon offers two different prepaid options for customers looking to switch to a no-contract service including a $45 and $60 monthly plan with unlimited talk, text and limited high speed data.
