US Cellular has made some changes to their prepaid Simple Choice plans last week, but honestly it isn’t anything to write home about. All three of their smartphone plans have been reduced by $5 effective immediately. New customers can get the lower prices when they sign up, and existing customers can take advantage of the pricing when they renew.
Here is what the plan lineup looks like now:
- $40 – basic phone unlimited data
- $45 – 1 GB high speed data, unlimited throttled data
- $55 – 2 GB high speed data, unlimited throttled data
- $65 – 4 GB high speed data, unlimited throttled data
All four plans come with unlimited talk and text as well. The plans, as you can see, aren’t actually all that competitive, although the
coverage for US Cellular is surprisingly good. The LTE regions are pretty tiny, but if you’re looking to stay away from the four corporate giants, then US Cellular might not be a bad way to go.
