Android Update For Prepaid Phones

Google has announced an update to their popular Android operating system. Following the dessert-naming trend, this newest version has been dubbed Android Lollipop. Lollipop has been optimized for active lifestyles, switching back and forth between different screens and interacting with technology in different ways. The new operating system will come out with the new Nexus 6 and 9 which Google announced earlier this week. There are several other phones that are expected to qualify to update to the new OS within a few days to weeks of the release. Here are the phones that will be able to run Lollipop:

• Moto X
• Moto G
• Moto G LTE
• Moto E
• Droid Mini
• Droid Ultra
• Droid Maxx
• HTC One
• HTC One M8
• HTC One mini
• HTC One GPE
• HTC One M8 GPE
• Galaxy S4 GPE
• LG G Pad 8.3 GPE
• Xperia Z Ultra GPE

For most of these phones, the update isn’t expected immediately–most of them probably won’t get the upgrade for several weeks after the official release. However, actual developer timetables haven’t been announced, so that is mostly speculation. The Nexus 6 and 9 are expected to ship with the new OS, and the newest generation of Moto X and G will likely be the first non-nexus phones to get the upgrade.
