With the massive number of prepaid MVNOs and carrier options, it’s sometimes hard to keep track of it all and even harder to compare and decide which company is the right one for you. So, every once in a while we’re going to go through and do a Face-off of two popular companies, comparing plans and services to help you better decide.

Today, we’ll look at US Cellular’s prepaid plans and Verizon’s prepaid plans. Both carriers are network carriers, which means that their speeds will be better than MVNOs, but prices will sometimes be higher.

US Cellular – Yes, the $35 plan includes unlimited talk and text and 500 MB of data

Verizon – Yes, $40 is the cheapest and it includes 2 GB of data.

Data Ranges  What is the most and least data available?

US Cellular – US Cellular offers anywhere from 500 MB to 12 GB. There is also a $30/month basic phone plan which does not include data.

Verizon – Data ranges from 2 GB to 10 GB, with unlimited lower speed.

US Cellular – US Cellular offers an international add-on for $10 which includes unlimited talk and text to Mexico and Canada. Other international calls are charged at a per-minute rate which varies by country.
