Page Plus introduces Talk n Text 1200 plan

Page Plus introduced a new Talk n Text plan yesterday, Talk n Text 1200. For $29.95 per month customers get 1,200 voice minutes, 1,200 text and multimedia messages, and 50 megabytes of data. The plan is a compliment to Page Plus’s unlimited Talk n Text plan, which includes unlimited minutes, unlimited messages, and 20 megabytes of data for $39.95 per month. It will be available on October 9th at Page Plus’s website and at retail locations. Earlier this year Straight Talk launched service with two plans. The first included 1,000 minutes, 1,000 messages, 30MB of data, and unlimited 411 for $30 per month. The second includes unlimited voice and messages, plus 30MB of data and unlimited 411 calls, for $45 per month. After Straight Talk made its debut, Page Plus upgraded its Talk n Text plan to unlimited voice, messages, and 20MB of data for $40 per month, undercutting Straight Talk by $5. This new plan offers more minutes, messages, and data than Straight Talk for the same price. Both Page Plus and Straight Talk operate on the Verizon Wireless network.]]>

Wow..another vendor in the cell phone market. They just keep popping up. I don’t know about Page Plus but it sounds pretty good since it also runs on Verizon Network. What I do know is I’m very happy with StraightTalk unlimited for $45 a month..and the $5 extra cost as oppose to Page Plus’s new plan is doable 🙂

Page Plus isn’t new compared to straight talk.

I have virgin mobile, which is a rip off compared to this service. The only thing stopping me from switching are the phones. I’ve had a full keyboard phone for almost 2 years now, and I can’t go back now. So whenever this company or straighttalk gets a qwerty phone, than I’ll be there.

This plan was rumored months ago but only now came true. Other rumors include a supposed 500 minute/500 text plan for 19.95 and some kind of data option.
Supposed to launch Christmas time . I am steering clear of PPC till they get their customer service quality back up to where it was before their unlimited and this plan were launched.

You can use any Verizon phone with a clear ESN with Page Plus service. It is an excellent company with excellent customer service and the best rates I’ve seen.

Verizon phone yes. Full capability? No. Talk/text/mms usually. On most phones. No web. You have to tinker wit web to get it to work.
Smartphones/pdas/pocket pcs except Blackberries: full everything. Must be Verizon.
Other phones can be used like Sprint/Metro/Cricket, but you have to be able to flash them.
The 1200 plan is better then unlimited for smartphones as it has over twice as much megs. 50 megs is fine for most people considering the average is 40-80 megs of month usage. Use Opera Mini to compress and extend the megs to get more.

Page plus only has one number to reach them and you are on hold forever! They need to get with it!

Page Plus is really lacking in the data department compared to Straight Talk – they need to step up. They could crush ST with a comparable data plan and compliment it with 500 min plan for the low end.

I purchased the talk n text plan for $29.95 the first month I had the phone. I decided to not use that $29.92 plan per month and drop down to just purchasing minutes. Unbeknownst to me once you add a talk and ext plan to your phone they will automatically apply that plane to your phone once you have an available amount of $29.95. When I called customer service she told me that I would not find this information on any paper work that I received when purchasing the phone or the minutes I just assumed that once the month of talk n text ran out that I would not have that plan any more. I should have asked a representative this question. I feel that if they can’t tell you how their plans work in full detail somewhere, why do I have to just know I should ask. Needless to say, they would not change the plan over to minutes and now I have a back up phone with a talk n text plan on it for the month on July 2010 that I will not use. Thanks Page Plus for taking my money and telling me it my fault, I should know what questions to ask. I will be replacing this company as soon as my balance is $0.
