Google Play, iTunes Discount Apps

money

Free is undoubtedly the best price, but deeply discounted is almost as good. Apple and Google have both lowered the prices on dozens (or in Apple’s case, hundreds) of apps to $1 from whatever their original prices were. Many of these apps are actually very popular games and some of them are priced anywhere from $2 – $10 regularly. The apps that are discounted are mostly games, although there are some productivity and other apps as well. There is some variation between iTunes and Google Play, although many of the same apps are discounted on both. There doesn’t seem to be a listed end date for either sale, so if you’re interested then I’d highly recommend purchasing them now. Here are a few examples of games you can get for $1:
  • Angry Birds
  • Cut the Rope 2
  • LIMBO
  • The Room Two
  • Badland (discounted to free)
  • Weather Pro
  • GoodReader
  • Pixelmator
  • Monument Valley
  • Game of Thrones (episode 1, Google Play only)
  • Metal Slug
Apple does have a listing of all of the apps on iTunes, but Google Play seems to just be hit and miss, so if you have any bookmarked apps this might be the time to check and see if they’ve been discounted. For those of you thinking that you don’t want to pay for an app… well, you should. But that’s neither here nor there; some of these titles are free, but most are $0.99. If free is more your style, then I might recommend downloading the Amazon App Store, which offers free apps every day.]]>
