MetroPCS Tweaks World Calling Add-On

One of the reasons that people shift from postpaid contracts to prepaid is to take advantage of better international calling plans. While every carrier and MVNO offers them, they most certainly aren’t all equal. Recently, T-Mobile owned MVNO MetroPCS has made a few positive changes to their $10 World Calling add-on. The $10 Mexico calling add-on is available but unchanged. Effective immediately, the $10 World Calling feature will include:

  • 200 minutes of calling to international mobile numbers in these countries
  • 200 minutes of calling to any number while roaming in these countries
  • Receive unlimited text messages while in select countries
  • Ability to send 200 text messages in select countries
  • Unlimited texting to international numbers while in the US
  • Unlimited landline calling to more than 75 countries while in the US
Some of those features were already included, but most of the international roaming options are new. The catch, of course, is that the $10 add-on is only available for customers on MetroPCS’s $50 and $60 plans. Additionally, the FAQ page states that the add-on is only available for ‘certain phones’ which I would assume means smartphones. However, the page was nonspecific as to which phones are included.]]>
