MetroPCS Adds Unlimited Mexico Calling

Quite a few prepaid brands including Boost Mobile and Cricket Wireless have some sort of Mexico calling or unlimited international plan offered as a side service along with the regular plans. It looks like T-Mobile’s prepaid brand MetroPCS is a little late to the party, but has brought what could be a great deal for customers who commonly travel between the United States and Mexico. On the heels of T-Mobile’s Mobile Without Borders international calling service, MetroPCS announced yesterday that it will now be adding a new Mexico Unlimited service to its plans. This new international option will give customers free mobile and landline calling to Mexico as well as free texting to Mexican numbers. Furthermore, the plan also allows customers to use roam inside of Mexico and grants free calling, texting and data usage while in Mexico. From what it sounds like, the service will basically work exactly the same in Mexico as it would in the United States, drawing data from your bucket as usual. 4G LTE speeds are reportedly available in Mexico as well as the United States. The Mexico Unlimited plan is only available to customers on the $40 or higher plans and will cost $5 per month per line. The add-on is automatic but can be cancelled at any time. With the launch of this new add-on, MetroPCS is currently running a promotion. All customers who sign up for the new Mexico Unlimited add-on between now and August 31, 2015 will get the add-on for free for the remainder of 2015. The add-on will resume at $5 per month in 2016. MetroPCS has a handful of prepaid monthly plans starting at $40 per month. For more information on MetroPCS, visit the website.]]>
