Cricket Changes Unlocking Policies

AT&T owned prepaid brand Cricket Wireless has announced a change in their policy on unlocking Cricket Wireless phones. Under the old policy, Cricket Wireless phones could be unlocked after four months of service but the new policy, which will take effect on December 7, 2014, has increased that by two months. Here are the unlocking requirements taken straight from Cricket Wireless:
  1. You are a Cricket customer in good standing, and your account is not cancelled.
  2. The device you want to unlock has been associated with your account for at least six months of paid service.
  3. The device is designed for use on and is locked to Cricket’s network.
  4. The device was purchased from Cricket or an authorized Cricket distributor.
If you qualify for unlocking with all of the above criteria, you can get your phone unlocked to use on other networks by contacting Cricket Wireless via phone, online chat or in person at a Cricket Store. Cricket has separate policies for deployed military personnel, and with proof of deployment, they will waive the six month requirement. For more information, you can check out this press release.]]>
