Boost Mobile Offers to Slash Prices

Sprint has been all about the “Cut your bill in half” promotion for a little while now, and it looks like it has finally moved the popular promotion over to the prepaid sector. Sprint’s Boost Mobile announced on Friday that it will cut plans in half for all MetroPCS and Cricket Wireless customers who port to Boost between now and July 20, 2015. Here are some of the example plans that Boost has advertised:
  • $20 for 2.5 GB + unlimited talk and text (compare to $40 with Cricket/MetroPCS)
  • $25 for 5 GB + unlimited talk and text (compare to $50 with Cricket/MetroPCS)
  • $30 for 10 GB + unlimited talk and text (compare to $60 with Cricket/MetroPCS)
Pretty sweet deals, I have to say, although there are some catches (as always). Customers will only get the promotional price for 12 months, after which all customers will be automatically migrated to a higher-priced plan with a similar data arrangement. Additionally, Boost has said it will not necessarily match all international options or add-ons, and may not include the same features you’d get with Cricket or MetroPCS. This promotional offer only available in Boost Mobile Stores. I don’t believe that customers will be required to turn in their Cricket or MetroPCS phone, although neither will work with Boost so a new phone purchase will be required along with a port of your current number.
