All the cell services in the US are greedy rip-off artistes. In 3rd world countries where cellular is primary vs. landline, you do NOT get charged for incoming minutes.

Nonchalant

I have the gophone and i'm getting verizon inpulse. i think its ridiculous a dollar comes off everday whenever i use my phone. the money buying cards adds up and when i use my debit card the cost is $15.90 for a $15.00 card. my phone(sony ericson z300a) is bad i have static on my phone in my room all the time, it has no regular ringtones. but overall gophone is too expensive and there is no fre nights or weekends, cingular is making soo much money the least they could do is give us some free texting or something.

Does cingular prepaid offers International Roaming??

I'm surprice by reviewing so much negative reviews from majority of the people. As far as my experience with cingular go plan it's far best then any other provider so far. In past I had sprint, AT&T and cingular contracts phone and i was always paying rediculisly high rates. Ever since i had cingular Go plan I never have to worry about going over my minutes. For $49.99, i have about 400 anytime mins and unlimited nights and weekend so i never run out of my mins infact the mins roll over to next month for upto $500 worth of mins. No roaming. Im lovin it. On top of that i had far better reception now then ever before. I have a slvr L7. One feature which is annoying yet useful is that u know ur remaining balance after every single call or text. OH one thing folks I truely believe that all the flip phone carrier will always have trouble with reception compare to anyone who have Bar phones. I swear to GOd i had about 10 different flip phones including razr v3 and motorola v3 all of them suckssssssss. Finaly when i switch to slvr L7 never onces that i had that problem. My sister who always had bar phones never had trouble recently she owns a flip phone razr dolce & gabana, cost is sky high and reception is worst . So thats it but folks let me know if im right about the Bar phone vs. Flip phone
anyone takes on this?

cingular rocks and i meant to give them 5 star rating! I agree with cingular should not charge us for incoming text.

sandy

sandra

i just can;t get no help with this new set up noone got time for me so what the use of having a cell phone if you can;t use it

I received a text from AT&T that they will be charging a monthly fee for the 911 service. I have a prepaid account (I don't pay monthly). I had already bought the $100 package that expires in one year. They want to start charging me this reoccurring monthly fee after having this package for 7 months. AT&T told that all of the prepaid phones now charge this fee. I decide to check with Alltel and Net 10. They both said they don't charge a fee for 911 when it is a prepaid service. Cingular didn't charge the fee either. This came about when AT&T took over Cingular.

Fatal Claws

A lot of people say Prepaid is a ripoff. I tend to disagree. For someone like me who rarely uses the cell, except for emergencies and a few text messages, it's perfect. Why would I pay $30+ / month for regular cell service when I can just have the $25 / month prepaid card? I did have Boost Mobile for two years but switched to AT&T because the Boost offered phones are no good. I really wanted a SLVR, so I bought one from Motorola, got a $10 activation kit from eBay and wa sup and working within 5 minutes. I ported my Boost number to AT&T a few days later. The only negative was that when I ported my number, I lost the remaining $9.00 I had from the activation. Calling customer support got me nowhere, so I wrote a letter to AT&T explaing what happened and they credit my account and even gave me an additional 30 days to use my minutes. Now that's customer service!

I got a gophone when I was turned down for a regular Cingular phone (without a huge deposit anyway). Never had a problem with it, customer service is great and it sends me a reminder when I'm almost out of minutes. Since I'm forgetful and had some credit snags, I couldn't ask for a better service. Gophone rocks.

rockin60

Cingular is great. I have the minutes plan and everything and have never had an issue. I would however like to request that Cingular get a little with it and not charge me for incoming text messages. I end up paying 30 cents a month for spam. I know it seems trivial to some over 30 cents, but since I can't control who sends me text messages, it should be included like it is with every other service provider on the planet.

Matt

I've had a go phone pick your plan for almost a year and have had no problem with it. Customer service is quick for the most part and the customer service people are friendly and knowledgeable. The only thing I don't like is that once your account balance goes over five hundred dollars any unused funds are deducted. I believe they should not have a limit on how much you can have on your account. Other than that I'm very pleased with the service. reception is good and I especially like the unlimited nights and weekends and the fact there was no credit check. Keep up the good work.

Connie

IF YOU DO ALOT OF TEXTING YOU WANT TO GET SIMPLE FREEDOM. I HAVE HAD ALL THE PREPAID PHONES AND SIMPLE FREEDOM IS THE BEST AND THE CHEAPEST AROUND. WHEN YOU ARE OUT OF MONEY ON YOUR SIMPLE FREEDOM YOU CAN STILL TEXT FOR FREE UNTIL YOUR AIR TIME RUNS OUT WOW HOW GREAT AND THE MINS ARE SO MUCH BETTER THEN GO PHONE AND YOU WILL NEVER LOSE YOUR PASSWORD WITH SIMPLE FREEDOM SIMPLE CHEAP AND VERY AFFORDABLE.... TRY IT TODAY.........

Matt

I would highly recommend pick your plan to someone who wants a plan similar to traditional cell service but doesn't want to hassle with a credit check. With pick your plan you just pay for the phone, any accessories, and activation, plus, I believe, the first month's bill, and from then on the funds are automatically taken out of your account each month without you having to remember about them.

I very seldom use my phone and usually have it off. I bought it for emergancies. I started getting im's that ate thru my minutes without knowing it. When I realized what was happening I went to a Cingular store to put a end to this. It was like chewing off an arm to have them remove the IM feature off of my service. At the store, I also purchased more minutes. My last statement I made to the clerk, "So from now on I will not recieve IM's?" He said no you will not. When I got back to work, I received another im message. I then again had to call to get it fixed again....When I purchased minutes previous, the clerk at another store put my minutes on my phone for me- so I thought that was customary. I found out that they put a password on the receipt to put into the phone- the clerk did not mention that. I misplaced my receipt, and I am out $100.00. I will take the blame for not really knowing how the plan works- but the customer service was horrible, and really rude. I will never use any Cingular products again.

Mary

I bought a cingular prepaid go phone and got the .25/min plan (don't use much). Before I left store, without ever touching the phone, I lost 75 cents! The phone charges you for incoming calls, even if you don't answer. And any text message that cingular sends you, costs me money! I got someone's old phone # so then I was paying for their old friends calling me, even though I didn't answer. It is wrong for me to have to pay for incoming calls or texts that I don't answer. It's a rip-off!

R. Harrison

The customer service for cingular prepaid (pick your plan) is worst than horrible; its below horrible...... I had prepaid service while living in San Diego CA. I closed the account when I moved out of state, but cingular prepaid took 2 more pmts from my ckng acct. I called, they stopped and reversed pmts. My bank charged me a $25 fee. I faxed bank statement to verify charge. A supervisor left me a voice mail that my $$25 refund was approved. Just call cingular and give my complete mailing address and....... I called; asked for supervisor as instructed and gave my mailing address 6 times since October 2006. As of December 9, 2006 I haven't recv'd my $$25 refund check. Zero stars is my rating.....

Cameron

I just bought a Phone and inserted a sim card init. It works perfect Quick customer service!!!

DADA

I really love it.

skip

I am pleased with the pay as you go plan. No hidden charge, just plain pay what you use. Only gripe is I couldn't get info from cingular store about the settings needed to use the wireless internet. had to search the web to find it. And when I used the incorrect setting, I couldn't connect to the internet but cingular still charged for the attempt!

Matt

I found Cingular's cellular service and customer service outstanding. But I have changed to Nextel (Boost Mobile) for one major reason.

It is not posssible to turn off or disable Cingular's text message after every transaction that announced my remaining account balance. It only took a few calls per day before I realized what a pain in the butt that was. It is just like receiving any other text message so it is as just loud or silent as the phone itself. When the text message service was slow, the message arrived a minute or two after I hung up a call.

Something this annoying that cannot be turned off must have been somehow beneficial to Cingular. But I hated it.

After learning that it is not possible to deactivate a Go phone I handed my phone to a homeless dude in downtown Tampa yesterday.

I told the guy to use thge GoPhone all he wanted and then toss it down the sewer when the balance was zero, I think I really made his day!

Now that you know about this annoying "feature" it will bug you like crazy if you purchase a GoPhone. Don't do it. BoostMobile supports push to talk just ike the full feature Nextel service and it rocks.

Yorik

Same thing, that annoyed me to no end. When I go back to USA I will be getting a different phone, that "feature" annoyed me so much.. Worse for me, was that it would announce my balance before i received a new message and the announcement was quiet, so I never knew I had a new message until I checked my phone.. ARRRGGHH!!!!

Dyllan Adkins

Its Great. I will never want any other kind of phone.

When Cingular merged with AT&T, I dropped my prepaid with them and went with Virgin. The old AT&T Free2Go plan was cheap and dependable. When Cingular took over, the required time to renew before cancellation was shortened drastically and they did not allow me to carry over my AT&T balance. And, significantly more expensive. So, screw 'em. I went with someone better.

Cheryl

I had At&t before cingular bought them out, I used to get 666 min for 100 dollars and one year plan. When cingular took over, my reception sucked, I didn't have very good service in the area I shop every week, I called cingular, they told me I needed to buy a newer phone, I did, Now I have no service in that area. I called and complained, they said there wasn't anything they could do, also my min. went down to 400 for the same 100 dollars. Two months ago I got a message they were charging my account three dollars each month for the 911 in my area. My husband has tracfone he doesn't have to pay it. How fair is that?

lashawna

I HAVE HAD MY CINGULAR GOPHONE FOR THE PAST YEAR OR SO AND CANT WAIT TO GET RID OF IT. RECEPTION IS HORRIBLE THE ONLY GOOD THING IS FREE MOBILE TO MOBILE BUT ITS NOT FREE U R STILL CHARGED A BUCK EVEN IF U ONLY USE 1MIN OF MOBILE TO MOBILE TIME.SO IM LEAVING CINGULAR AND GOING TO T-MIBILE MY DAD HAS T-MOBILE AND RECEPTION IS GREAT!! PLUS THEY HAVE THE GOLD PLAN FORGET MOBILE TO MOBILE THATS SO YESTERDAY!!

Urvashi Patni

This phone badly sucks. I have spent more than 100$ for 20 days.. just beacuse had to roam around the whole building to get the coverage. Though i would never find coverage, they would always find me to be charged for every call which gets dropped. I would throw this shit phone on the road to get crashed by all cars once i get my new phone.I wish i could give it 0 rating...

Courtney

I had the Cingular GoPhone before I got the Alltel pre-paid plan.
I don't need a cell phone plan because I am hardly on the phone...but I love to text message.
I hated that I was charged for incoming text messages and a lot of my friends would accidentally text me twice or they would send me forwards..and it would deplete money from my account.
The calls I did make were not very long and once I went over 30 seconds, I was charged 50 cents...when it's supposed to be 25 cents per minute...
I just felt the value was not there.

The phone that came with my package was ugly and outdated.
With Alltel, I paid $10 more and got a VERY up to date phone (which I would have paid more than $150 if I already had an account with Alltel) that has Bluetooth and looks 10 thousand times better.

I am glad I gave up their Go Phone plan and went with Alltel's pre-paid service.

Shirley

I was enjoying my Go Phone until today I got a text message saying my account can't go over $500. limit. This doesn't make sense to me. As long as I pay every month I shouldn't have a limit. I don't talk much on the phone but when I do I don't want to worry about if I'll run out of minutes. Plus the sales lady didn't tell me about the limit when I bought the plan.

jolene

cool but it could be way better

dolald

this phone is so stupid i cant believe that i spend my money on it it is redickulious

Sandy

Cingular sucks. Period. Go any other way and you'll be better off.

Why Cingular / ATT are sickening jerks and should not get your money.

I GOT DSL FROM QWEST AND IT KNOCKED OUT MY HOME PHONE, SO I GOT AN ALLTEL KYOCERA PREPAID. I RAN OUT OF CALLING TIME AND BOUGHT A $20 GOPHONE FROM WALMART AND $100 WORTH OF AIRTIME. I TRY TO ACTIVATE IT ONLINE. BUT INSTEAD OF ACTIVATION IT'S:

NO GO:

I REPEATEDLY TYPED IN ALL THE CORRECT INFORMATION ONLINE AND WAS TOLD REPEATEDLY THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND TO CALL A NUMBER AND SAY "CUSTOMER CARE". I LOOKED FOR EMAIL SUPPORT BUT OF COURSE IT'S SOURCED OUT! AND CAN THIS SOURCED OUT HELP HELP ME? NO, THE EMAIL SAID "DO NOT REPLY". THANKS CINGULAR YOU ANTI-CUSTOMER JERKS! WAY TO GET MY SUPPORT! AND DOES CINGULAR HAVE LIVEHELP SUPPORT? APPARENTLY NOT UNTIL AFTER I COMPLAIN IT DOES! MORE ON THAT LATER.

SO I HAD TO BUY A $20 CARD FOR ALLTEL AGAIN, SINCE CINGULAR JERKS CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO ACTUALLY TALK TO ANY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS, GOD FORBID.

WHEN I CALLED I GOT A MACHINE, THE MACHINE DIDN'T ASK ME WHAT I WANTED, BUT INSTEAD ASKED IF I HAD A NUMBER FOR MY PHONE, I MISUNDERSTOOD AND SAID YES, AND THEN IT ASKED ME WHAT IT WAS, AND THEN I REALIZED WHAT THE QUESTION WAS, IT DIDN'T LET ME START OVER, AND INSTEAD HUNG UP ON ME. THAT IS ONE MINUTE LOST ON MY ALLTEL PREPAID. I THEN DID IT AGAIN AND TOLD IT MY SMARTCHIP NUMBER, BUT, MISSES MACHINE COULDN'T GET THE NUMBER RIGHT, AND COULDN'T GET IT RIGHT EVEN WHEN I TYPED IT IN, THAT'S THREE MINUTES LOST. IT THEN TOLD ME TO CALL CUSTOMER CARE AND SAID "CINGULAR" AS THE LAST PART OF THE NUMBER, OF COURSE COULDN'T BE BOTHERED TO GIVE ME THE ACTUAL NUMBER, INSTEAD I HAVE TO PECK ON MY PHONE, WASTING EVEN MORE OF MY TIME. SO I CALL THIS CUSTOMER CARE NUMBER, AND WHAT DO I GET? LIVE SUPPORT? NO, I GET A SORRY THIS NUMBER CAN'T BE CONNECTED OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT - THAT'S TWO MINUTES MORE LOST. I CALL AGAIN JUST IN CASE I GOT IT WRONG, AND IT'S THE SAME MESSAGE. WHAT GREAT SUPPORT!: MACHINES THAT CAN'T UNDERSTAND YOU AND "DO NOT REPLY" (TO OUR OUTSOURCED AUTOMATED MESSENGERS) AND "SORRY THIS NUMBER AIN'T WORKIN!"

SO THEN AFTER THIS SICKENING EXPERIENCE I LOOKED AROUND TO SEE IF THEY ADDED LIVE SUPPORT, AND FOUND A "CONTACT US" WHICH STRANGE, I COULD SWEAR WASN'T THERE BEFORE, AND SO I CLICK IT, AND THEN I SEE YOU CAN POST IN THE FORUMS. AND I ALSO SEE A LIVE CHAT OPTION! WOW DID THEY ADD THAT JUST FOR ME? APPARENTLY NOT, SINCE... YOU HAVE TO BE GOD DAMNED INVITED JUST TO TALK TO A CINGULAR EMPLOYEE. ANOTHER F.U. FROM CINGULAR TO IT'S CUSTOMERS. OH, EXCUSE ME, ITS "POTENTIAL" CUSTOMERS.

SADLY, YOU MUST REGISTER, AND WAS THAT EASY? OF COURSE NOT:

"Tech Support Chat

In order to participate in the Cingular Live Forum you must be a Cingular Customer. If you are a Cingular Customer, you must also specify your wireless device and wireless number in your user profile. Click here to edit your forum profile."

So, despite having bought one of cingular's phones, despite having bought airtime from them, I don't count as a customer till they tell me I'm one. Thanks Cingular, you sick jerks.

BUT THERE'S ANOTHER OPTION HAPPILY WHERE YOU CAN CLAIM NOT BE A CUSTOMER, AND THEN I HAD TO HUNT FOR NAMES (I COULDN'T JUST BE AN ANONYMOUS CUSTOMER, NOPE.) FINALLY I REGISTER. THEN I GO TO POST A NEW THREAD, AND DO THINGS GO SMOOTHLY YET? OF COURSE NOT: IT'S CINGULAR FOLKS!:

"E-Mail Verification Required

Sorry, you must first verify your e-mail address by clicking on the verification link that was sent to you when you registered. If you did not receive an e-mail from us, or need us to resend it, please visit your User Profile page."

ANOTHER F.U. FROM CINGULAR TO THE CUSTOMER : )

SO I GO TO MY EMAIL AND YAY, THEY ACTUALLY DON'T CONSIDER YAHOO ACCOUNTS TO BE TOO DANGEROUS TO DEAL WITH AND I VERIFY MY EMAIL. AND DO I GET TAKEN BACK TO THE FORUM? OF COURSE NOT, CLICKING IT TAKES ME BACK TO THE PAGE BEFORE THE FORUM, SO I HAVE TO BACKSPACE REPEATEDLY TO GET BACK HERE. THEN I GO TO POST. AND HERE IT IS. AND CINGULAR, F.U.2.

I WANT TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THOSE 6 MINUTES, AND I WANT MY PHONE ACTIVATED, JERKS. UNFORTUNATELY YOU CAN'T GIVE A NEGATIVE 5 STARS HERE.

tim

GO PHONES SUCK!

PLease!! No customer service to seak of. I was on hold for 11 minutes today, I was trying to get somebody to tell me why I am being charged .50 cents for a call that should cost a quarter. A 33 second call cost me 50 cents?? I was over charged 3 out of 7 times yesterday. For crying out loud, there is a timer on the phone, we know how long the call is. Well, after 11 minutes on hold I finally got to speak to a rep and she more or less said sorry, nothing we can do for you, you must not be diconnecting from the call soon enough. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold for another 5 minutes, I hung up. Then I received a text message from cingular that I had to pay for.
The CSR department is located on the south side of HELL. Dont bother with this phone complany or any of their plans. Turn and run the other way as fast as you can.

I've been a loyal GoPhone customer in Central New York for over 3 years now, and I have only two complaints so far. More often than not, I find that Cingular's customer service leaves something to be desired: they usualy have inordinately long wait times (but at least it's a free call from your Cingular phone) and the representatives can sometimes give you the runaround. If you get to a person, it can be hit-or-miss. That, and the text you recieve after every transaction reminding you of your balance.

As for the call quality, I've had ALL of the major carriers (Verizon, TMobile, Sprint/Nextel) and in my area, Cingular is the only provider with consistent coverage. Even through the steep hills around my home, call quality is crystal clear. I travel a fair amount to New York City and North Carolina, and my GoPhone has never let me down, with the exception being in the Holland Tunnel.

Cingular is awesome if you like to upgrade your phone. You can use any phone compatible with the Cingular network, and changing phones is as easy as removing and inserting your SIM card, no need to call Customer Care. Through my 3 years of service, I've had 5 phones, and never had a problem with one of them. In fact, when the Apple iPhone comes out this July, I plan to upgrade again.

In my firm opinion, Cingular is one of the best prepaid options if:
You travel (GSM coverage)
You need mutimedia features (full WAP, MMS, Push email capability)
You want easy-to-manage costs (very easy to use website)
And you want the best phones available today.

Cindy

Cingular wiped out my account stating that I was one day late in putting more money into the account. After talking to 3 sales reps (after long wait times), no one was able to get my money back. I give up. This is too administrative and every Cingular rep gave me slightly different answers. I lost $150. My family is also on Cingular. We're all so upset about Cingular service in general, we're all ditching Cingular. As for the prepaid phone thing -- I'm moving to Virgin Mobile.

Erik

Garbage. Pure garbage. .10c/minute for regular calls? I can call Europe from a pay phone for less than that. $1.00 per day to connect? Total ripoff!!!
DO NOT waste your money on Cingular.
They even charge you per minute to check your voicemail.
When you call their (yes, Cingular's) 800 number to add prepaid minutes to your phone, they charge you for that call too.
THIS IS THE BIGGEST RIPOFF IN HISTORY!!!

Phyllis

The Go Phone sucks big time. We have had it for the last 1-1/2 years with no problems, but since the AT&T merger we have had nothing but problems. We have been told the prepaid plan is now under another vendor, Cingular does'nt handle it anymore. Anyway, our phone is deducting mins. without using the phone. This has been going on for the last month or so. Have called CS, talked to EIGHT people including someone at the Office of the President who stated the problem has been solved which it hasn't. We lose anywhere from $5 to $15 per day especially if we make an outgoing call. We are wits end, want to go to another carrier, but don't want to give Cingular one dime!!!!! If at all possible, don't go with the Cingular Go Phone

Mrs.williams

i love my phone it is great everyone i know has one and it cheap a dollar a day thats not bad if u think u have a bad phone go to alltel that suck i have the best service and i live way out in the country where no one has service its great and i wont go back to any other but cingular any time i have a question i call and they help me out i think everyone sould be with cingular they are so nice AND GREAT SERVICE

april

i love cingular great service the best

chris

yes cingular is the way to go

sharon

i love cingular i have the best service and this is what im going to stay with anyone says different then u are crazy lol i love my service

Allen

Bad phone, bad service daily fees, I lost a lot of money with Cingular. Finally, I found the right prepaid company. I called Page Plus Cellular and they replaced my old Cingular phone free with 71 minutes and it is .08 cents per minute nationwide!
I advice everyone to call 800-550-2436 and replace your old with new one for free with 71 minutes. It is nothing to loose.

Very Impressed!

Awesome plan! I got the pay-as-you-go, flat $0.25 per min plan and I couldn't be happier. I was previously a Sprint customer for 10+ years and rarely use my cell phone. This is the perfect plan for the person who does not use a cell phone often. With this plan and an initial $100 fill-up, you'll have 400 minutes that won't expire for a year, which turns out to be 33 minutes a month if you spread it out. If you budget your minutes out that way, you'll only be paying $8.33 per month vs. the cost of other contract carriers that have plans starting at $30 per month. Plus, if you refill your account before the expiration period, all of your minutes that you didn't use will roll over into the new term. I am very impressed with this plan and service and cannot find any cons.

The customer service is excellent as well. The agents speak english and are very helpful.

The coverage is reliable & extensive and the sound quality is incredible on a Razr.

If you do not constantly have need for a cell phone to be glued to your ear, this is the perfect way to go!

Jack

works alright, customer service incompetent. text messages sometimes don't reach their destination.

Alex

Hi). Maybe you'll help me. I'm from Ukraine(Eastern Europe). If i'll go to USA for 3 month can i use my Nokia E60(GSM 900/1800/1900) at Cingular Go Phone Prepaid Plans? Is it possible to buy prepaid sim-card or i'll have to buy new cell phone with prepaid plan?
Thanks a lot;)

Jack

Mr/Ms Ukranian, yes you can get a SIM card and use it with your Nokia. I assume it's a Tri-band phone. Cingular is one of the only service providers you can use with such a phone. all the other providers try to make you buiy their phones and extort you as much as they can. I brought my phone from Sweden and popped a SIM card from Cingular in it. Cingular may not be the best, but at least they give you SIM cards.

Alex

Sounds good. Thank you, Jack. Please tell me how much this SIM card roughly will be cost? I'd like to get Pick Your Plan.

Business Owner

Cingular said yes I have to pay $1.90 just to initially set up my Gophone voice mail. I understand checking for messages, but initial setup? This initial fee is not clearly stated in the terms. $1.90 was my first billable call. I can't wait for more surprises...

James

Gophone is a horrible service. You will only get phone service if you can reach a cingular cell tower. No service otherwise...so if your MOM or DAD is having health problems at the side of the road where your car broke down...well say goodbye to them...

Tasha

Gophone is right for me! no problems yet!

Michael Scofield 12

No matter what phone you have, coverage
sucks bad in northern california! Anything exept T-mobile is better.

Tiffany

I love the go phone, it allows you to have freedom. It's great not having to worry about paying that bill each month. Also, I get great reception. I think its funny when I am somewhere with some friends that are on different carriers and they do not have reception, but I have full bars. LOVE THIS PHONE!!!

Shannon in northern California

When I first got the phone, it had trouble turning on. I thought it was a user malfunction, as I've never had a cell phone before. Their website kept blocking my registration, so I had to go to a service station to get it registered, where I had to pay to get it re-registered, even though it hadn't registered in the first place. Then it wouldn't get service anywhere. Then it kept eating my minutes with its fake calls and fake texts, which were totally unfamiliar to me. I never found instructions on how the heck to access voice mails or get rid of those texts. Even when I had full bars, it said it had no service. Then it stopped turning on at all. That's the worst waste of money I've ever had--but the service reps where I got it are so bad, I refuse to even try to return it!

Shannon in northern California 2

Oh yeah...not to mention, in my above account, that I also got someone's old number--when I went to register, there was someone's full personal information from Texas on my computer screen! When I bought the phone, there was a deal where I got $25 of free minutes, but sorry, they weren't sent any phone cards for the phone, so I don't get any minutes. At random times through the day, it would buzz and tell me my account balance was lower when I never touched the stupid phone. It would tell me my account was balance was charged, but wouldn't tell me someone called, though I had everything turned on.

valerie

best phone alive :]

Michael

Bought the gophone, the text after each call is horrible. I'm going elsewhere.

Andrew

Nice plan but the phone texts you with a balance after every usage which is incredibly annoying. The Cingular rep waws no help at all.

matt white

it was the best thing in the world i will never get another kind! if its right for me it's right for you:]

Faith

I have the GoPhone plan with unlimited nights and weekends. EXCEPT if I want to check my voicemail! The new rule is that you are charged at the regular rate to call the voicemail number OR your own number to check your voicemail from your gophone, even during "unlimited" nights and weekends. I was infuriated and called customer service. The best help they could give me was, "Find a landline and call your voicemail from there. Then it won't charge you." What a ripoff! Unlimited nights and weekends to any phone number in the US except, you got it, my OWN VOICEMAIL, which of course is one that I call the most. Their reason? "It cost Cingular a lot to put extra features on the system so they're just trying to recoup the cost of the enhanced voicemail." Well, they won't be recouping anything from me because I'm canceling ASAP.

Shri

Cingular Go phone Sucks. 25C/min. LOL........T-mobile is much better...100$ refill for T-mobile(that too on ebay comes at around 85-95$) gives 1000 mins and year validity.Whereas for Cingular its only 400 mins...I tried cingular just once with 25$. I used to get money deducted even if phone rings and call does not get through.

rgs0805

I've had the phone for 3 months now. Service is great. Where I live cingular is about the only provider that picks up good coverage. The free mobile to mobile is a plus. The downfall of course is the annoying texts after each and every phone call or text.

Marice

I loveee my go phone! although it sorta sucks that u have limited mins but still! atleast you have service almost everywhere.. you go. i'm careful with my mins i dont waste them all in like one day.
i have the 400 any time mins and then unlimted text messages
which is like 74 bucks a month. heey but i never really talk much on the phone.. i txt a lot.. and it unlimited so i dont ever have to worry bout running out of txt messages.

Julie

Well I just got a gophone today. I like the cell phone, and the coverage in connecticut is pretty decent, but i'm worried that when i go to boarding school in new hampshire i wont be able to rely on it any more. i have virgin mobil for about 3 year before this and it was infuriating. it costed 25/minute, 15 cents for text messaging and the service would just drop. i could never answer my phone and my friends hated me for it. then one day my phone didn't have service alltogether and I called it quits. I like the cingular phone, i got it because its only a dollar a day when used. i was close to going with alltell because they have unlimited text messaging and one person calling....but the thing is, it was a dollar/day no matter if you used your phone or not...and i don't use it every day. nothing wrong yet with the phone except those freakin obnoxious messages after every small thing done. eugh.

Handyman

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD!! Erin Vega of the new ATT prepaid Albuquerque NM told me "i am the supervisor there is no one higher than me" as i took down her name and call center location to follow up with a real letter later today. She wouldn't stop talking "this is a valid charge, this is a valid charge" over and over again...i swear it was just like a Jerry Springer show.....the call center customer service rep from hell....you get what you pay for, this was in all honesty the worst call i have had in years....
