I have the GoPhone plan with unlimited nights and weekends. EXCEPT if I want to check my voicemail! The new rule is that you are charged at the regular rate to call the voicemail number OR your own number to check your voicemail from your gophone, even during "unlimited" nights and weekends. I was infuriated and called customer service. The best help they could give me was, "Find a landline and call your voicemail from there. Then it won't charge you." What a ripoff! Unlimited nights and weekends to any phone number in the US except, you got it, my OWN VOICEMAIL, which of course is one that I call the most. Their reason? "It cost Cingular a lot to put extra features on the system so they're just trying to recoup the cost of the enhanced voicemail." Well, they won't be recouping anything from me because I'm canceling ASAP.

Cingular Go phone Sucks. 25C/min. LOL........T-mobile is much better...100$ refill for T-mobile(that too on ebay comes at around 85-95$) gives 1000 mins and year validity.Whereas for Cingular its only 400 mins...I tried cingular just once with 25$. I used to get money deducted even if phone rings and call does not get through.

I've had the phone for 3 months now. Service is great. Where I live cingular is about the only provider that picks up good coverage. The free mobile to mobile is a plus. The downfall of course is the annoying texts after each and every phone call or text.

I loveee my go phone! although it sorta sucks that u have limited mins but still! atleast you have service almost everywhere.. you go. i'm careful with my mins i dont waste them all in like one day.

which is like 74 bucks a month. heey but i never really talk much on the phone.. i txt a lot.. and it unlimited so i dont ever have to worry bout running out of txt messages.

Well I just got a gophone today. I like the cell phone,and the coverage in connecticut is pretty decent, but i'm worried that when i go to boarding school in new hampshire i wont be able to rely on it any more. i have virgin mobil for about 3 year before this and it was infuriating. it costed 25/minute, 15 cents for text messaging and the service would just drop. i could never answer my phone and my friends hated me for it. then one day my phone didn't have service alltogether and I called it quits. I like the cingular phone, i got it because its only a dollar a day when used. i was close to going with alltell because they have unlimited text messaging and one person calling....but the thing is, it was a dollar/day no matter if you used your phone or not...and i don't use it every day. nothing wrong yet with the phone except those freakin obnoxious messages after every small thing done. eugh.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD!! Erin Vega of the new ATT prepaid Albuquerque NM told me "i am the supervisor there is no one higher than me" as i took down her name and call center location to follow up with a real letter later today. She wouldn't stop talking "this is a valid charge, this is a valid charge" over and over again...i swear it was just like a Jerry Springer show.....the call center customer service rep from hell....you get what you pay for, this was in all honesty the worst call i have had in years....

the go phone is a piece of shit and i don't like it. i dont understand y they would charge u a dollar a day even when your only talking to cingular people. i advice everyone with a go phone to burn the phone and go to t- mobile.

I have had cingular pre-paid for about 1 1/2 years and I loved it UNTIL they merged with AT&T. They charge you to call your voicemail now when you call at night or on the week-ends, (I have free nights and week-ends). They also started charging a 911 fee every month. I just found out that if you don't refill your minutes after 60 days they lock your simm card and you have to buy another simm card for $25.00 plus tax. I was just told you would loose your phone number not your simm card too. Cingular if a rip-off since they merged with AT&T. Customer service sucks, rude and not helpful at all. "The new AT&T SUCKS!!!!"

On the brighter side I would also like to add that if you pick the plan for a $1.00 a day that u use your phone you also get free mobile to mobile. You don't pay a $1.00 a day on the free nights and week-end plan. I have both plans or should I say, I had both plans until they locked my simm card.

I liked this phone well enough (I just got a razr), that is, until I went through with the set-up. I had to register twoce, the at the end I was told that there would be a problem with my phone. You see, it was too "nice", and the web browser would somehow activate itself everytime I turned on my phone. My coverage is "too good". So the rep said my minutes would get eaten up by this web browser because there was no way to de-activate it. Her only suggestion was to buy a cheaper phone or keep my phone off until I am ready to use it. Or expecting a call. So apparently, I need to be psychic or rich to take incoming calls. I wouldn't bother with cingular now that they are with at&t- their service reminds me of why I switched my land line away from at&t in the first place.

Well, this was my first choice for prepaid service because I have used Cingular for years. However reading over these reviews this does not seem the way to go, but...stay away! AT&T have seemed to have taken over and destroyed what used to be a great company. Not only with service but customer service. I could probably deal with messed up service to a certain, but when it comes to the "customer service" that can make or break a company. I will keep looking, this is not the service that I would like to be associated with. Thanks for the reviews guys! I am now considering taking my paid service elsewhere as well, mainly because of the "customer service". Honestly wanted to put 0 Stars however 1 was the lowest...

there are other brands of prepaid phones that when you buy the phone at walmart you get 300 minutes included in the price of the phone which I think was 39.99, works great and if you ever have a problem with that phone they send you a new one with 500 minutes free, so you can lose, and no hidden charges, I used to be a cingular customer service representative and man to work there sucks too, we usually had more than a 1000 calls waiting to be serviced and had to waive our hands to get a supervisor when needed, and even the simpliest questions, we had to bring up the account even if all they wanted to know was the voicemail code, which is star 99, we alway had to try and sell something, and some of these folks really get ripped off my the kiosk (cingular stores) most of them dont know what they are talking about..

I purchased my first defective Nokia cell/AT&T in July 2004. By the end of August 2004, I left northern NJ w/$40+ going enroute to South Jersey (couple of calls were made-10min max). Upon returning to Northern NJ, I had approx. $6.00. How can that be? Call cust.serv. and was informed of the roaming charges (even when not in use). Tmobile is ok while traveling; Virgin Mobile sucks & it would be nice is STI mobile update there phones.

By the way I give AT&T a 5 rate for reception and 1 rate for everything else. TMobile reception.I rate-2 1/2, $25-1yr plan,I rate-5, all other service, I rate-0. Virgin Mobile overall rate-1. STI mobile, I rate overall-4. Yes, the telecommunication giants are duping all of us.

Customer Service = We don't want to help you. That's how I was treated, WOW! I am frustrated. Cingular Please sepporate from ATT.

What a rip off. I had to skip a month paying because I was between jobs. However, I still had $20 worth of minutes that I pre-paid. They shut off my service and took the $20. Bottom line, they took my money and gave me no service in return-SERVICE THAT I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR.

now I'm here trying hard 2 shop 4 the best deal on a prepaid phone and these reviws have confused me.
now is it mostly the disappointed customers who are writing or is it a fairly random sample of cingular customers, I don't know.

I liked the go phone for a while, now i would like to get a phone i can pay by the month, so i don't have to worry about running out of minuets, i have alot of family i need to check on and keep up with , that are sick, but i can' afford a huge bill!!!! if you can find something for me i woul appeciate it!!!!!!!!!!

Go phone sucks, I hate it, and I got a text message saying that AT&T will charge .15 cents per text.. now thats a big rip off! You do get charged for everything...and $1 everyday u use your phone...geez... give me a break!!

I love my Go phone! It costs me like 5 cents a txt which is a lot cheaper than the phones my friends have. However i do think its annoying how after like EVERY txt i send it tells me how much it costs, I KNOW HOW MUCH A FREAKIN' TXT COSTS!

I purchase a go phone for my cross country trip with the understanding that wherever AT&T goes, so does my phone. NOT SO! If you are roaming you are not allowed to use the signals from other companies only the AT&T towers because it costs more money to use other towers. So, in a city where AT&T has their own tower it will work but otherwise it won't. I have talked to the executive office of AT&T and was asked if I read the disclaimer about their plans. Naturally I didn't. If you pay a monthly fee you can use the rented towers but if you have a pay-as-you-go plan like you have with the go phone you cannot use the other towers. It is totally wrong and is being sold under false pretenses. I'm MAD!!!

If i could rate at&t with neg.stars i would.Since the two combined service customer support billing ect have went down hill i have five numbers three contracts and two pre paid i cant get same signal nor service with pre paid heck on 11/04/07 i cant even refill my prepaid accounts (thats cust. satisfaction)they keep saying system is down and i cant talk to a person just recordings guess that would be the reason i left at&t the first time

I have a pantech c120 camera phone that isnt too bad. I do think its bad that in order for you to have mobile to mobile you have to buy the 69.99 plan that's exspensive. Recently my incoming calls stopped coming in and all calls go straight to voice mail. All technical support can do is give me a new number or wipe my phone clean (remaster) so i have to load all contacts and rings over which is a huge inconvenience but i guess thats how it the gophone plans work. I havent had this phone a year you would think if anything they would send me a new phone for my chip but thats too much like right.

I just would like to know WHY would at&t charge you to check your own voice mail? The really bad part about that is its just with the go phones even if your free after 9 and weekends your still charged to check your own voicemail. Not good at all, and also i dont think they even read these reviews maybe if it was for contract customers but its just pre-paid so they're like WHATEVER

i have had a go phone from cingular/at&t for about 2 1/2 years now and it si so expensive!!!! but now they have this thing called feature packages
i am so glad they have dat now cuz txt messaging now cost .15 cents and with dat package you can get 1000 messages for 9.99 or unlimited for 19.99 or 200 for 4.99. thats the only good thing about da go phone. and they even have an "escape a date" where you can have them call u during a date if its not going to well. lol its only .50 cents a call.

I got charge for so many things and used up $50 in one week, which is crazy cause my sister who is on contract pays less than $50 a month. So the pre-paid plan is a ripe off and I was have been a Cingular customer for 2 years before I went abroad

I will NEVER give Cingular/AT&T my business again. I have a go phone and bought the "pay as you go" minutes, as needed. I only bought the phone for emergencies when taking my granddaughter with me, and thank the Lord, I never needed it for that reason. Anyway, I purchased my pay as you go card and two days later, before getting the chance to load the airtime, I no longer had service. I called and they told me that my account was canceled and I would have to purchase another SIM card and start the whole activation procedure again. In the meantime, I find out that they now offer unlimited mobile to mobile calls, which they didn't have before, and I wanted. What a rip-off company they are. I was purchasing the go cards to load my airtime and never using it and they would get my money. BAM! Just like that....gone! I would have been better off putting that money in the bank! I hope they can sleep well at night! Anyone need a $15 dollar Pay As You Go card with the PIN number on the receipt? How about a Motorola C139 phone with a 2-year replacement plan?

By the way, I rate them only 1 star, since that is the least allowed. However, I would have preferred not to give them any!

i recently got a promotional letter from cingular/at&t, well i like the ofer that they were ofering me , so i call 'd , i spoke to one of there sales representives and i ask if they had eney phones whith blue tooth tec on it , this was for the pay as you go plan , they told me yes , i had intencions on purchesin 2 of them, i was on the road at the time , they were supost to call back so i could finish the transaction , i waited for 2 days and no phone call , so i call'd back and they told me that they had no such phone for sale af that tipe, my question is wy do they ofer a product that they cant deliver , i was very disapointed and discusted , whith all do respect , i have ben using cingular go phones for some time now , i have a v190, and it has ben a good phone , i like the service, but i dont like being lead on like that , especialy being a paying customer , and dont ofer what you cant deliver , ......................................

This AT&T Go Phone (prepaid wireless) is nothing but a RIPOFF! You can purchase all the time you want, but this company will create ways to eat up your minutes. This includes turning your phone ON, because they send TEXT ADS to do their advertising and the customer is paying for it! Please don't make the mistake of continuing to buy time for one of these things. Total waste of money!!

I bought this phone in Phoenix. When we started traveling with it we noticed that there were two ways of letting us know that we could not use the phone: "no coverage" and "no access". It is this second message that we take exception to. We have noticed that companies tend to treat prepaid phones users as second-rate customers. In the case of Cingular, this meant that we could not use the phone because of "no access" on the Interstate I-15 all the way from Salt Lake City to the Canadian border. Not even in the Butte, Helena or Great Falls areas! I strongly object to this policy of providing two levels of access service: one to subscription-based customers and a different and inferior level of service to those of us who pay far more per minute.
I would appreciate an explanation from Cingular.

MY FAMILY USES THE GO PHONES FOR MOBILE TO MOBILE USE. GO PHONE SHOULD READ ON THE PACKAGE DISPOSABLE PHONES!!! i AM GOING TO SHOP FOR SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE CUSTOMER FRIENDLY WITH BETTER OPTIONS.

Never again. First I received a note that my phone needed replacement. I replaced that phone with a go-phone that cost 80 bucks. Then I had to buy 100 bucks worth of air-time. I used it 3 times and last november they cut me off for not using it. I purchased an additional month, used it once and then have not used it for 2 months. Now I cannot even get the phone to work so they have cut me off. I also had a business account and advertising. We shut the business so they made us get another phone number and continue for 8 months paying for advertising in the book. They cut the number off and nobody could find us. That was 800.00 so right now AT&T is into me for well over $1000.00 and no service. The customer service rep in Atlanta told me that was just the way they did business. I wish I had more power to see just why this is like this. AT&T should be investigated by the government.

Service is good but there website and C.S. is crap. My phone will not display pic messages and you are supposed to get them off of the webstie, but it has never worked and have never even gotten a respose from C.S. even after several tries. If you go with the biggest provider be ready to sacrafice alot of support that you will get from a smaller provider that acutally cares about each coustmer.

Recognize that this is a company built upon greed! Avoid like the Plague. My Elderly mother went through considerable stress with the New ATT. Ask your friends for recommendations before choosing this piece of Excrement Company!

My Cingular Go Phone refuses to pass go, and as such, I was unable to collected $200. Furthermore, I was then forced to go directly to jail on an unrelated drug charge. I hate you go phone Powerlink 4 Eva!
