Well having 500 contacts is an entertaining notion. But here’s the kicker that show whether any thought went into design… what can you do with the contacts?? Can you save them to your PC… or do you lose them as you do with other VM phones. When my phone pairs with my Bluetooth car… can my car access the contacts (as competitors have offered for years) or do I have to type those 500 contacts into my car as well.

Like most cell customers I have a spreadsheet of all my cell numbers because boring “mature” phones that aren’t target at the tweens are often dumbed down and lack quality of basic features: Loud, unannoying rings; loud, clear speakerphone; address book backups & transfers; customized alerts and rings; intelligent call handling; decent battery life; basic text messaging(not necessarily w/keyboard). Most of the people I know want these items–and their current phone fails at least one of these basic features.

The Samsung Mantra comes with amazing features,can be easily assessed by new users.The price is quiet reasonable. The look is very simple and decent. @Barbara, we love to be considered youthful at the ripe old age of 7…what is that in telecom years? But remember, we have customers of all ages. Prepaid phones offer flexibility and value in many ways…and hey, so what if you get carded?

I have always felt out of place using Virgin Cell Phone because it is so over the top youthful. I find it so irritating that I am thinking of changing plans, even though yours is the most economical one for me.

With the new unlimited plans, I think Virgin Mobile is trying to appeal to the previously contract bound crowd with a phone that looks like it belongs to someone over the age of 14. If a businessman/woman is going to use Virgin Mobile, IMO, they would look a bit silly with an Arc; it’s too colorful and youth inspired.

Just my thoughts.

This phone is a step back for them. After the Shuttle and X-TC, why sell a phone like this. I can see why they have The Jax. A basic starter phone. All of there other phones should be 3g, 2.2 qvga displays, ev-do, 1 mega p. camera, at least a 20 key partial keyboard. They should hire me.
