Virgin Mobile getting Samsung Slash slider
posted by Joe on May 2nd, 2008 - 10:00 am | Virgin Mobile
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new phone from Virgin Mobile. But they’re ready to drop a sleek-looking model on us, the Samsung Slash. There aren’t a ton of details available at the moment. We know it is Bluetooth compatible, and is a camera phone. No word on the resolution, though. All in all, it looks like if you can do it on Virgin Mobile, you can do it with the Slash. We’ll let you know the pricing and release date once they’re announced. Picture after the jump.

Yes it does Tiah. One of my only complaints of the phone, since you can’t permanently take it off.

Pros- Very compact, large screen, slider works well (and is fun to play with), Decent camera, good call quality, easy to text on, has voice recording and voice dialing, mobile IM and E-Mail, side button for camera
Cons- keypad takes getting used to, default ringtones aren’t loud enough (downloaded ringtones are fine), uses internal memory rather than SIM card, voice dialing is not really worth using, mobile e-mail doesn’t support gmailOverall- Great phone, perfect for the call quality is outstanding, the voice dialing is a bit useless because it takes more effort than doing it manually, the keypad feels awkward at first but gets easier, I would reccomend this phone to anyone in need of a nice looking simple phone with good call quality and a camera

im 17 and i bought the virgin mobile slash. i thought it was very appealing. it worked great for me for six to seven months. then, i believe because of my excessive texting, it broke. the buttons i used most often ceased to work, except for occasionally when they wanted to. also i never used it for calling so i cant note on that. its alright tho because i feel i got my money’s worth. i highly enjoyed this phone while i had it. i feel it had a good battery life and took decent pictures. my biggest problem with this phone was you couldnt reply to messages without the recipient getting the message with three dots “…” at the end of each message. making every message seem very traily and setting a bad tone. so i had to go into the contacts and compose a new message to that person each time i replied. but i got used to it. overall i would recommend this phone to teens and young adults who look for texting picture messaging internet and ringtones.
