Virgin Mobile drops Helio brand, eyes changes this month?

Virgin Mobile at least three or four times a month. Since Sprint acquired them, however, we haven’t heard too much — even during the holiday season, when it seems we heard something from about every prepaid carrier. The lull in news could end soon, though. I missed it, but a few weeks back on Howard Forums a user claimed that big changes were coming February 16. Usually I let rumors like this go, but over the weekend another HoFo user noticed that Helio phones and plans are gone from Virgin Mobile’s website. Could this be a sign of things to come? If we’re talking big changes, clearly removing the contract brand from VM could be a part of the moves. But it doesn’t figure to be everything. With many of their competitors have improved plans over the past few months, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see them come out with a competitive unlimited plan, plus some better pay-as-you-go options. The 16th is just over a week away, though, so we’ll soon find out whether these rumors hold any water.]]>
