New Virgin Mobile plans, phones leaked

We heard, not too long ago, that Virgin Mobile would get the Blackberry Curve 8530. At the same time we heard that they might change up their current rate plans. It looks like both are true. Via Phone Arena, we get a glimpse of the new Virgin phones and plans. Yes, it includes the 8530, but that’s not the most exciting part of this. As you can see above, the plans have changed considerably. All of the new Virgin plans include unlimited text, email, data, and web. The $25 plan includes 300 minutes, the $40 plan includes 1200 minutes, and the $60 plan provides unlimited everything. The $25 plan is particularly enticing if you spend more time typing than talking. The promo material says Anytime Minutes, so I wonder if these plans include unlimited nights and weekends. If so, it would make the $25 plan an incredible value.

Click for larger The phone choices look good, too. As expected, the BlackBerry Curve checks in at $299.99. The necessary downside is that BlackBerry Internet Service costs an extra $10 per month. Still, $35 per month for unlimited data, text, email, and web on a BlackBerry? That’s simply incredible. If you’d rather a BlackBerry clone than the original, you can check out the Kyocera Loft for a quarter of the price. The LG Rumor Touch will round out the new handset lineup, checking in at $149.99. We still don’t know when these plans will launch, but later this month would make sense. The leaked promo materials make it seem close. ]]>
