Walmart Prepaid Verizon Phone Options posted by Ashley Kratky on March 17th, 2014 - 8:00 am | Verizon Wireless
There are two prepaid Verizon phones available at Walmart online. The phones that are offered, only get service in select areas. Walmart asks that you put in your zip code before looking into purchasing the phone, this is to ensure that the phone will be able to get service if you buy it. Prepaid phone cards need to be purchased in order to add talk/broadband minutes to the phone. There are particular prepaid cards that can be used with each phone. There is an activation fee that is assessed when the phone is purchased at Walmart, but depending upon the sale that is currently running, the activation fee may be waived.
The first phone is the LG Optimus Zone Smartphone. This phone has a 3.2″ touchscreen and is equipped with the Android gingerbread technology; which includes voice over WiFi, enhanced gaming functionality and improved Google apps. It has a camera with camcorder functions, an MP3 player, picture messaging and email. The LG Optimus Zone Smartphone has 4GB of internal memory, 10 hours of talk time, and 11 days of standby time.
The second, is the Verizon Motorola Moto G prepaid cell phone. It has a 4.5″ color display that tracks the available talking minutes right on the phone. It is equipped with a camera, screen saver and wallpaper options. The body of the phone has a curved design, and it fits snug in the hand. The Verizon Motorola Moto G has an Android Jelly Bean operating system, compatible with multimedia games and has 8GB of onboard storage. There is 18 hours of battery talk time and 14 days of standby time.
After reading some reviews on the LG Optimus, the general consensus was that it was a good phone for the amount of money that they spent for it. It was, however, very difficult to set up. But once is was set up by the owners, who were both males and females between the ages of 45-60, they were very pleased with the operation and usability of the phone for daily use. These reviews were from the Walmart online site and were given by verified purchasers. The reviews that I read for the Verizon Motorola Moto G were not found on the Walmart website and were not verified purchasers. These were independent reviews from various people who loved the curved design and the price, but was not very enthused with the functionality of the processor.
