Tracfone to give away Visa gift cards
posted by Joe on December 11th, 2008 - 7:30 am | Tracfone
Do you like money? I like money. Tracfone knows we like money. Via Ian, we find out that the no-contract carrier is giving away five Visa gift cards for the next 12 months. The prizes total $955 monthly, or $11,460 over the course of the year. From first through fifth, the prizes will go $500, $250, $100, $75, and $30. All you have to do is go to the contest website and fill out a survey about your cell service. You can enter once per day, and you don’t even need to be a Tracfone customer to enter. I see little downside to this.

Thanks for this tip! I agree with you–there is little downside to this. Tracfone seems to do some pretty cool things. In addition to this, they started giving discounted prepaid phones to certain lower income neighborhoods in the US. Sure, the program is subsidized by the gov’t, but it’s cool that the company stepped up to the plate.

New cellphone companies have a hard time providing convincing arguments in favor of their phones. Prepaid phones are incredibly beneficial considering there are no contracts and no hidden fees. Also, having a prepaid phone is much more affordable than many phones; Tracfone charges only about 30 bucks a month.
