T-Mobile to upgrade FlexPay?
posted by Joe on April 28th, 2008 - 10:00 am | T-Mobile
In the inaugural edition of the Prepaid Podcast, we talked about T-Mobile’s FlexPay prepaid plan. It’s what any other cellphone company would call a hybrid plan. You pay per month, just as you would with postpaid, but you pay up before every month. And since you can do it prepaid, there’s no two-year contract. The only problem is that they don’t really advertise the service on their website. Well, apparently there’s another problem: It’s not very easy to use. We could be seeing a fix to that, though.
According to TmoNews, we should see FlexPay 2.0 in July. I’m honestly not sure how reliable this news is, though. TmoNews began earlier this month, so it’s tough to judge their credibility at this point. I guess we’ll have to wait for July to see — they also called prorated ETFs coming June 30.
Further, they say that T-Mo is launching an ad campaign touting FlexPay. You want some quick advertising? Add it to your website under the prepaid section.
Also in this article, they say that T-Mobile will give you the ability to block text messages. We discussed this a few weeks ago, and I was disappointed when I found out that T-Mobile couldn’t even shut off text messaging completely. I’m fairly certain you still won’t be able to block SMS from specific numbers, but the ability to shut off the service is a step forward.

Yes, Ronnie, you should be able to call up T-Mobile and they’ll just transfer your account.
