T-Mobile Introduces Simply Prepaid

tmobile simply prepaid

Late last year, T-Mobile said it was going to change up their prepaid sector with something called “simply prepaid” but didn’t really give a date for the new plans or a whole lot of information so I didn’t really report on it. Well, yesterday T-Mobile finally announced the plans, availability date, and set up a snazzy page talking about how much greater it’s going to be, etc. While the plans do include LTE, the prices aren’t really anything that exciting. Here are the plan options:
  • $40 – unlimited talk, text and low-speed data with 1 GB of 4G LTE
  • $50 – unlimited talk, text and low-speed data with 3 GB of 4G LTE
  • $60 – unlimited talk, text and low-speed data with 5 GB of 4G LTE
These prices are pretty much in line with other prepaid carriers, although the addition of LTE is pretty nice. As a note, Simply Prepaid will not be replacing T-Mobiles Simple Choice plans, but instead is designed to complement the existing plans. The Simply Prepaid plans are expected to be available to the public on January 25. Simply Prepaid plans will not include the same benefits of the Simple Choice plans such as Data Stash, tethering, Music Freedom or Simple Global. Free wifi calling is included, however.
