Straight Talk rakes in a half million subscribers

Straight Talk. They came in big during the third quarter, adding 515,000 subscribers. This is all the more remarkable, because usually wireless carriers are a bit slower in the second and third quarters. Chances are this was a late-quarter rush following the release of the Samsung Galaxy Precedent. They’re primed to have a bit fourth quarter, too, now that they have two Android handsets. The holiday rush won’t hurt. Via FierceWireless.]]>

While they had a good number of new subscribers compared to other carriers, if I’m not mistaken, Tracfone added more new subscribers in q3 of last year-I think the numbers would have been substantially higher if the new ST Android offerings were able to be offered on Verizon or AT&T. But alas, we know they wouldn’t allow that kind of competition to their own offerings!
