Nokia E71 smartphone a great Straight Talk deal, with a catch

You might have noticed that since the beginning of the month Straight Talk has been offering a refurbished Nokia E71 for just $99.99, which is half off the brand new price. As expected, the unit has sold well, but it hasn’t come without issues.

PhoneNews.com reports that Straight Talk has been shipping, and continues to ship, the E71 with an invalid SIM card. That makes activation impossible, which certainly explains a number of the one-star reviews Straight Talk has received.

For their part, Straight Talk is dealing with the issues as they come up, though it doesn’t appear the issue has been solved at the root yet.

That said, you can still take advantage of the E71 offer at Straight Talk website. Just realize that you might have to take a few extra steps before you can activate.
