LG Optimus 2X will not come to Straight Talk

Straight Talk put up a page announcing the LG Optimus 2X? it looked to be one of the highest-end Android handsets on prepaid, which makes for exciting times. Unfortunately, it is not to be. PhoneNews.com reports that the device has been quietly cancelled by Straight Talk. The reasons at this point are unknown, but PhoneNews’s Humberto Saabedra does a good job examining the possibilities. Maybe it will resurface in the future, but for now we’ll have to wait a bit longer for another relatively high-end Android handset on prepaid. ]]>

I am a Straight Talk customer. They just emailed me and said that they are definitely still releasing the LG Optimus 2X. They said they sent it out to Wal-Mart stores Feb. 20, 2012 and will soon release it on their website. They said it will run on the T-Mobile Network.

I too was told today that they are still releasing the Lg Optimus 2x and they have been shipped to Wal-Mart stores Feb. 20-21. This is going to be very disappointing if this is not the case.

I just checked the reserve page for the LG 2x and it is gone. It is been replaced by the Optimus Q. I guess is true that the 2x is not coming to straight talk anymore.

Okay, I am looking at this right now, and I see an ad that says free shipping on Androids, with the android dude holding the 2x…???

Who really knows anything at this point, other than Straight Talk has not been straight with current and potential customers. Just work the byod program, buy your own sim and phone of your choice and you’re good to go. Lots of new and good condition TMO G2Xs out there.

    I agree with Dave.
Plus you can search Google as far as programming any AT&T phone to work with a Straight Talk SIM card many that are much better than the optimus 2x
