Prepaid Links: Indoor service and more

 

Sometimes as I’m going through my various sources I’ll come across some truly interesting stories. Most of the time these either aren’t completely pertinent to the prepaid realm, or otherwise don’t warrant their own posts. Today, in the absence of hard news, I thought I’d compile a few of them into a reading list of sorts. Prepaid users can certainly benefit from some of these.

Ten Ugly Fees and Service Contract Traps. They’re everywhere, so look out. Unsurprisingly, three of these 10 in the list pertain to postpaid services. This is similar to something I wrote nearly three years ago, the 13 worst clauses in your cell phone contract.

A straight forward review of Straight Talk. If you look at our Straight Talk review, you’ll notice a disparity among customers. Some love the service, while others have found nothing but problems. Mike Smitt at Healthy Financial Habits tried it for himself, and his conclusion, unsurprisingly, lies somewhere in the middle.

Wireless not just a luxury. At The Reigster-Guard, Sherri Buri McDonald takes on the current issues consumers face with cell phones. After going over the smartphone craze she dives into the potential savings of prepaid.

Indoor Mobility? Matt Brunk at No Jitter discusses the issues presented by our habit of originating cell calls from indoors. The spectrum isn’t really perfect for that type of usage, and Matt examines the implications.
