China digs the prepaid

Just a quick ‘lil note on this, since there’s not much in terms of an article. China announced that they added 5.46 million cellular subscribers in May. But get this: of those 5+ million, only 366,000 were contract plans. The remaining 5.09 million? Prepaid.

This brings China’s subscriber base to 326.9 million. We wonder what the overall percentage is of prepaid customers.
