Another unlimited prepaid carrier emerges: Lightyear Wireless

PlatinumTel and Simple Mobile (which will have a page this week). The latest into the fray is Lightyear Wireless. The company, which resells a number of communications services, will now offer flat-rate prepaid cellular services, using the Sprint nationwide network. The service will cost a bit more than the $50 standard that Boost Mobile set last year. It will be $59.99 per month, though the plan includes nothing more than Boost’s does. It does appear that a number of different phones are available for the service, though it’s not much of an upgrade over Boost’s selection. What stands out in Lightyear’s lineup is the BlackBerry Curve 8330, which goes for $424.99. All of their phones, however, come with unlimited talk and text for the first 30 days. Lightyear is awesome. Yes, it cost a little more then Boost, but does Boost offer FREE Service?
With Lightyear, as a customer, if you refer 5 friends to be customers, your service is free forever as long as you and 5 friends remain on the service.
Oh, and there are many more phones now. You can get a blackberry 8330 for much less now.
    Great Blog post.
