ZTE C88 handset debuts on MetroPCS

The most distinguishing feature of the phone is that is a true clam. This is in contrast to the RAZR, which has been the base of many recent cell models. This has a more straight up and down look, while the clam kind of curves from your ear to your mouth. It makes screen-viewing a bit stranger, but given the nature of this phone, it shouldn’t be a problem. You see, it’s a stripped down, no nonsense kind of phone. The kind I wanted while I was in college. That was when phones were getting kind of experimental — though the RAZR didn’t come out until around graduation time. There is no multimedia center on board, so no music and no video. You can, however, download ringtones. It also has a camera, 1.3 megapixels, and you can send photos. And it comes with 60 MB of onboard memory, so you can store plenty of them. More so because you can’t store music (though I’m sure a hack for that will be created). So hey, if you’re looking for a bare bones phone, the C88 is your answer. It’s reasonably priced for a prepaid phone, too: Just $139 at MetroPCS.com. [Business Week]]]>

    Jerry J,
I’ve got a problem with my old Moto V300, so time to replace. Have you found any other phones with the wap? I really love the built in web type info service and hate to loose that! My service is T-Mobile To Go, though.

    Sorry, I believe I’m looking for T-zones info! Have e-mailed T-Mobile.
