Motorola to cut mobile phone R&D

Hi there! If you're new to the site, you may want to subscribe to the the feed.

Motorola, now officially the third largest handset manufacturer thanks to Samsung, has announced that they will slash their spending on research and development by 15% this year. Yet somehow they are going to “be careful not to impede the development of new mobile phone models as it looks to cut costs.” Well, Moto guys, if you could have done that, why was’t it done earlier? If you can cut costs and maintain production, well, that’s a no-brainer. Needless to say, we’re not buying the line from Motorola. People are raving about the RAZR2 and the new Rizr, but we see nothing special about them. Looks like things aren’t looking so hot for Motorola.
