Motorola Debuts New Moto Devices

Moto G 2015

Motorola has finally released information and specifications on the successors to its popular Moto G and Moto X devices released last year. Both devices are upgraded quite a bit from previous models and are priced affordably. To make things even better, Motorola is focusing on selling unlocked devices directly to consumers instead of working through pricey contracts with carriers. Last year’s Moto G and Moto X were easily among some of the best devices, and the Moto G was my top pick for best prepaid phone for the value. However, if one thing is true in the wireless industry it is that things are constantly changing, and last year’s models, while still good, are looking pretty dated. However, the new devices both received some hardware upgrades including a nice camera on the Moto X that many reviewers are raving over. The Moto G can now be designed using the “Moto Maker” software which allows customers to customize the look and color of the device. The new Moto G is expected to be available in GSM format which should be compatible with T-Mobiel and AT&T networks. The Moto G will support LTE (finally) and it is available right now via Motorola’s website and should be headed to Best Buy on August 2. The device itself is extremely palatable at $179.99 which, looking at the specs, is a really great deal. Read more about it on Motorola’s website or design your own. The Moto X is being marketed as the Moto X Pure Edition, and is priced a little higher with slightly better specs that the Moto G. This device still has a pretty sweet camera and, of course, will be compatible with the Moto Maker which was originally debuted last year. Unlike last year, the Moto X will not be available from any carriers and can ONLY be purchased directly from Motorola, unlocked and sans all of the ridiculous bloatware that comes with other devices. The Moto X should be available later this summer and will retail for around $399. I haven’t the new Moto devices in person, but if the reviews and the excellent make of last year’s models are any indication, then these devices are definitely something to take a look at. The Moto G, in particular, looks like it will be fantastic device for T-Mobile or AT&T MVNO customers.]]>
