Cricket, UTStarcom release mini phone
posted by Stuart on September 27th, 2007 - 12:00 pm | Cricket, Prepaid Phones

So the new StarCom CDM8935 comes with all the standard features of modern phones: VGA camera, speakerphone, Bluetooth, data-capable, and all that jazz. So what makes this phone stand out from its modern phone brethren? it’s teensy weensy. The dimensions: 3.3 inches high, 1.7 inches wide, and 0.7 inches deep. Wowsa! And it’s less than three ounces, so you can barely feel it in your front pocket. It’s a flip, too, so you’ll still get a decent-sized display.
Yes, we saved the price for after the jump. It’s $180. Yeah, that’s steep, especially for a phone that doesn’t function any better than one you can get for at least $80 cheaper. But such are the pitfalls of prepaid. WIth no phone subsidies, you’re paying full retail price for the phone. Though, we have to wonder what the markup is.
