Page Plus officially adds $12 plan

Page Plus has added a $12 monthly plan. For that price, one of the lowest-priced monthly plans on the market, you get 250 minutes, 250 messages, and 10MB of data. Picture messages are included in the 250 messages, but the transfer counts against your 10MB of data allotment. The plan, called The 12, is now available at Page Plus’s website.]]>

Wow! While my mom’s SVC comes in at a lower monthly price(about $5 less), this is by far the better deal for minutes/$. I would seriously consider switching her to this if they had a senior-friendly cellphone to go with it – something like the SVC which is designed for seniors, with all the necessary big buttoned, hearing aid compatible, and emergency assistance features. Don’t suppose they have anything like that, do they? Nice going for Page Plus!

I am recently retired and considering cutting way back on mobile phone expenses. I’ve never thought about using a pre-paid phone – thought they were somewhat illegitimate. Can y’all tell me if they are ok, legitimate, and will be around for a while?

I have been happy with my use of Page Plus Cellular. I have had The 12 plan on one Android since February 2012, and The 10 on another Android since May. Both Androids were formerly used on Verizon (before I bought them).
The price is right, for me.
