Net10 reintroduces unlimited calling plan

Net10 dropped their unlimited plan, you wouldn’t be so far off. While the plan phased out before we published an article on it, the plan stuck around until fairly recently. But, just as quickly as it disappeared, Net10 reintroduced it, this time at a lower price point. So, just when we thought we lost a competitor in the prepaid unlimited market, we actually gained a stronger carrier. Net10’s new unlimited plan closely resembles others on the market, and because of its GSM advantage, could put its parent company, America Movil, in a solid position.

Just like Boost Mobile, Net10’s unlimited plan includes unlimited voice, text, and Web for $50 per month. Like Straight Talk, it includes unlimited 411 calls. In addition to the basic $50 package, customers can buy additional minute packages. Not for standard minutes, of course, but for international calls and data purchases. While Straight Talk is a CDMA service running on the Verizon network, Net10 unlimited is a GSM service. It probably runs on the AT&T network. This helps Tracfone cover most major markets. In markets that don’t offer Straight Talk, customers can now get similar service from Net10. It’s not quite as cheap — apparently Verizon had the better network leasing deal — but it’s comparable in service. It looks like Net10 is currently limiting the offer to the Web, and allowing only three handsets: the LG 600G, the Samsung R401G, and the Motorola EM326g. They do picture these with fancy packaging, so perhaps a retail release is in the offing. As with their old plan, it doesn’t appear Net10 is publicizing this much. The only place I saw anything pointing to the website was on Howard Forums. You can get more information at http://www.net10unlimited.com/en/.]]>

Wow I have really been searching the web for this, I saw the commercial the other day, and it said available at Target, I cant beleive it dropped down 30 dollars, I like net 10 and I plan to buy a new one just for this service with internet.

$50 for unlimited is a great deal! Sure beats paying over $100 monthly. Also a plus that it’s available at Target (my favorite store) which means I’m going to check it out on my next visit 🙂

I’d be carefull about sinking a lot of money into NET10. I have 3 of their phones and lately have been having all kinds of problems with missed calls and phones that don’t work properly. Their customer service is all but nonexistant when it comes to real problems. I can’t get them to fix my LG phone that can’t be answered the first time it’s powered up or my Samsung phone which shows 1 or 0 bars signal strength when the other 2 show 4 bars.

i have been a faithful net10 customer for over 4 years, but lately thier customer service has been terrible. i was on hold for over 1 hour yesterday just to buy minutes! the unlimited deal sounds great but i am through with net10 because of the poor customer service recently. plus i found out i need to upgrade to a ‘special’ unlimited phone instead of just using my current net10 phone….?! straight talk for me, i think.

I hope they consider smartphones. I’ve seen the keyboard phones. I hope they accept applications for them.

I’ve been a net10 customer for about 6 months now. I love the service, and the coverage. But, I needed more, I was often spending $60 or more a month. I was thinking of switching only to find an unlimited plan. But, now that they brought this back, and at only $50 a month I will only be needing a different phone. And I wanted a new one anyway, so I think this is just AWESOME!

Hey You Guyes, Net 10 Is the Best!!, Iv had 2 phones REPLACED FOR FREE!!, With-Out paying a penny for the shipping or the replacement cost. Trick; Just call them , speak calmly , explain the technical defect, and get a report#, wait 24 to 72 hrs, If it didn’t get fixed call back, give the report# and receive a new one, its soo simple.

  8. Deborah on February 25, 2010 at 6:58 pm

How did you do that? cause I have a net 10 that has not been working for 2wks. They have not offered to give me another one at all, I’m going to cacel my account tomorrow if they don;t fix the problem .

I’ve been a customer for years, but since Tracfone has taken over, customer service has been terrible. I had a problem with my phone, got a new one sent to me; they ported my # & reactivated the OLD phone!! (& the new phone has a defective jack!!) They say you get what you pay for–& since Straight Talk is also run by Tracfone, I won’t be getting one of their phones either.

  10. Net10 & Tracfone on March 4, 2010 at 1:26 am

well, the customer service may suck, but come one guys, these customer service reps are ppl too, so yes, if you speak calmly to them they will have any problems with your phone fix. they actually sent me two replacement phones at no cost to me, and for the waiting, they compensated me free minutes for it. they are great, i love my phones. i love the service

  11. fLIP on March 5, 2010 at 12:54 pm

I’ve had this phone for a week now. I cannot access the browser or get picture messaging. They send me a new sim card..still dosent work. I have been very patient after spending countless hours on the phone with numerous reps.

Do yourselves a favor, don’t port your phone unless you need to. Ported numbers tend to have more problems according to one CS agent.
If you do have issues, contact the numbers and emails below. They belong to the more advanced CS agents. Good luck.

Found this to be the best way to stay in contact if you’re working and studding with staying away from home. Moved out last year and started a new job and they are paying for my night classes. So I’m consistently in motion and need a good phone. The phones work, are reliable, there is nothing but minutes and no hassle.

  14. Great Deal on April 29, 2010 at 11:40 am

Great Deal for those in Parris Island Beaufort, South Carolina! Can’t beat it. They might have uncool phones but it is very well worth it! Thank you NET10 for such a great deal. Who wants to pay for plans that is basically a car payment every month. Not me!

  15. Sebastian.B on May 17, 2010 at 9:25 pm

I left AT&T for NET10 and boy was that a mistake. Most of the time, their customer service is HORRIBLE and is somewhere in India. I love India, but, I cant stand the broken english which makes communication that much more difficult. Keep in mind, their call centers are NOISY and many times you cant even hear your agent among the backgrnd chatter.
Ive had a few instances where they didnt even know what NET10 plans consisted of! -So I had to explain what the plan contained and how it worked (to the best of my ability) to their OWN AGENT. Do they even train their agents??
To make matters worse, I enrolled in their Unlimited plan and they only offer a few phones. I liked the simplicity of the phones, but, unfortunately, theyre cheaply made, contain annoying glitches, and you arent allowed to use any other phones outside of their crappy selection.
Do your research before you consider joining. Start with trying out their customer service and get a glimpse of what you will be dealing with.

  16. James on May 18, 2010 at 11:15 pm

The service is terrible and worse they are skilled liars. DO NOT BUY–DO NOT BUY–DO NOT BUY!!!!

  17. James on May 18, 2010 at 11:25 pm

FYI-Straight Talk,Net10,Net10 Unlimited,TracPhone are all owned by the same Company “America Movil”

  18. Cameron on May 24, 2010 at 2:29 pm

Can you believe people have such problems with carriers they are willing to slander them. I like net10 and have had a better experience with their unlimited plan then with any of the other carriers. Every carrier has their problems, but at the end of the day it comes down to raw service and money. I am a small business owner and have had a very impressive experience with net10, have saved allot of money, and have found a product that is very versatile. I have bought phones for all my employees and i bought myself this unlimited plan. And with every carrier you’re going to go through trouble, but this one has saved me allot of money.

  19. edross on May 28, 2010 at 4:52 am

I’m with Cameron on this. I dont have the Unlimited plan with Net10 (it ends up more cost effective for me to use their normal prepaid options), but I’ve only ever had good experiences with them. They offer some of the cheapest rates around, of course they have to cut corners somewhere. How else can they compete on price? I think their pricing is transparent (unlike many other prepaid options) even if their customer service isnt.

  20. L. Fiske on July 23, 2010 at 8:52 am

I’ve had my net10 phone for almost three years. I’ve tried to unsubscribe from their emails but that never seems to work and they continue to be more numerous. While the phone works well it isn’t as good as it used to be. I have more dropped calls than ever and sometimes I can’t get my messages. I’ll probably be switching to another company soon.

As of Sept 2010, they’ve finally made it so that Net10 Unlimited Version 3 is out. The original had Att was super expensive at $80 for unlimited talk/text only , no data or 411. Allowed any Net10 phone.
Version 2 was $50, unlimited everything but only sold at Target and only allowed the use of Net10 Unlimited phones. Ran on Tmobile.
The latest version combines one and two. You can use any Net10 phone and you get the price of version two. The best of both worlds.
Finally got it right , Net10. Finally got it right.

  22. Harry on October 31, 2010 at 1:46 pm

So now net10 has an unlimited plan for $50 and they allow to switch between that plan and there $25 750 minutes and $15 250 minutes plan each month depending on much your going to talk that month, i think that is great and now that the idea is out there i wouldnt be surprised if other companies started picking up that idea.

  23. panthers2 on January 10, 2011 at 8:23 am

More people are looking for ways to save on their cell phones and get great service at the same time. NET10 has really put that all together, especially with the return of the unlimited plan. In case you don’t know, some of the older model handsets may be blocked from using the unlimited plan. Good news is they are offering replacement phones at no additional cost to the customer. Just let them know which one you have and they will send compatible replacement. Not sure any other prepaid would do that for their customers. Nice!

  24. Natalie on March 1, 2011 at 6:33 am

Yeah right after i heard that they came out with the unlimited plan, i switched from the 25 dollar 750 minute plan to the 50 dollar unlimited plan.

  25. Joe on March 12, 2011 at 12:11 pm

I have had Net10 phones for a couple years, and have really had No problems with them.
As mentioned, their “Call In Customer Service” can be problematic – to say the least – But, I Always use the Online Support, and have nothing but good to say about that.
Just this last week, I got a new LG900G, and I had it activated, and the phone number from a StraightTalk phone Ported to it, and Minutes and days transferred from another Net10 phone, and the entire process took no more than an hour – All this done strictly on the Net10 Support site.

  26. luvtoshop on March 14, 2011 at 6:49 am

What I heard is that NET10 has really good coverage. Apparently they use the AT&T and Verizon networks. Before I make a decision as to which prepaid to go with, would like to know how this is working out? I understand the customer service has issues. As far as I’m concerned, most companies I deal with lately, have their problems with customer service, so I don’t think this will really impact my decision. For me, it’s all about saving money.

  27. randy1991 on April 4, 2011 at 12:59 pm

Net10 is a great service. I love the unlimited plan although it only includes 50,000 minutes/text/web/411. I have had it for three days now and only used almost 1,000 minutes. It’s great.

  28. Dinah Russell on July 18, 2011 at 7:39 pm

I have called customer “NO” service twice. Theyd switched me off my unlimited plan and gave me minutes that I went through in two weeks. Now, I can’t even call customer “No” service. I’ve talked to them twice and emailed. I was charged for my unlimited plan that I have had for two+ years but did not receive it this month. When I talked to them, they said my phone would be reactivated (it’s my only phone) and my unlimited program reinstated in ten minutes from the time I called. That was days ago and I’m still waiting. I am not a happy customer.
