Net10 will join sister brand Straight Talk in offering Android handsets. Last night a tipster sent a link to Net10’s Android reserve page, which details two new handsets: the Optimus Q and the Optimus Net. We saw the Optimus Q yesterday when Straight Talk made it available for reservation. The Optimus Net is a nearly identical handset, just without the sliding QWERTY keyboard. There’s no word on pricing or specific release date, but Straight Talk is offering the Q for $179.99. That sounds about right for both of these deals from Net10. Both phones will go along with Net10’s $50 unlimited plan. ]]>

This will be awesome as long as it doesn’t use sprint. If it still uses at and t I’ll get it.
Why are all the prepaid android phones using Sprint? I waited and waited for StraightTalk to get a really good phone(Samsung Precedent)because I get really good coverage with StraightTalk and then they put it on Sprint (which I don’t get any coverage. I am so excited now that Net10 (I get really good coverage) is getting the LG Optimus Net Android phone. I just hope they don’t do it to me again and put this phone on the Sprint Network. I have been a loyal customer and I hope they reward us with the same Verizon or AT&T networks.
The reason why Straight Talk does does not use the Verizon network for it Android phones, is because Verizon does offer their Android phone on a there prepaid plan. Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile do offer their Android phones on a prepaid plan. Verizon just came out with a $50 unlimited talk and text prepaid plan, but it not for their Android phone. Hopefully, next year Verizon will offer Android phones to their prepaid customers.
I agree. They should post in the specs whether it is gsm or cdma, at least. It is kind of silly that they leave you hangin like that.
I can best my life on it, that they will all be using SPRINT .the worst carrier ever besides AT&T…..I asked straight talk why they use SPRINT but if you can make heads or tails out of what they say more power to you….I didn’t see where Straight talk is offering the Q only the precedent…hmmmm…..but I bet NET10 will use SPRINT as well !!!
unfortunately I can only get VERIZON at my home !!! and this SUCKS that I can’t get an ANDROID PHONE PREPAID !!!…but Verizon WILL NEVER GO PREPAID FOR AN ANDROID , they want you to spend $100.00 on a PLAN thats how Verizon works …they are a bunch of IDIOTS in all areas !!!
Use Page plus as an alternative to Verizon for prepay. I had a Droid X and A Droid Eris on there. They use the Verizon towers. Use any droid phone as long as it has a clean ESN.
True Dre, but Page plus doesnt offer unlimited data. Only 300mb on their $55/mo package….
I’d buy one if they didn’t require the unlimited plan to use.
DONT BUY THIS!! TERRIBLE!! NET10 sold these phones before they set up their network enabling Android service to work properly! iVE BEEN WITHOUT A PHONE FOR A WEEK BECAUSE THEY CANT GET THEM TO WORK!!!
