TextNow Giving Away Free Moto G

I almost hesitate to write about this, but TextNow is pushing the final stretch of its Back to School Sale this week and customers looking to take advantage of it might be able to score a free 2014 Moto G with the purchase of a monthly plan. Of course, supplies are extremely limited and the promotion itself will end in on September 20, 2015 or when supplies run out. Last year’s Moto G is a little dated compared to the more updated devices, but the phones themselves are still pretty nice. The free phones with this promotion are refurbished and deeply discounted from the $150 price tag. You can pick one up here while supplies last, although the supplies were limited at the time of writing. If you miss out on the free phone, several devices have actually been discounted as part of this promotion. Here are some of the more notable sales:
  • LG Volt 4G LTE – $13.99 (reg. $99.99)
  • Motorola Moto X – $119.99 (reg. $399.99)
  • LG Nexus 5 – $129.99 (reg. $349.99)
  • Samsung Galaxy S3 – $49.99 (reg. $199.99)
  • Samsung Galaxy S4 -$149.99 (reg. $349.99)
  • Samsung Galaxy S5 – $279.99 (reg. $499.99)
It is important to note that because of TextNow’s software, phones purchased through TextNow cannot be used on other networks. There is an option to activate your own device, however there are some functions (like wifi calling via TextNow’s app) which may not work if you bring your own device. TextNow has several plans available ranging from $20 – $60. This little MVNO runs on Sprint’s network but also offers service via Wifi, which might actually make Sprint’s patchy coverage bearable.
