Selectel Wireless Plan Overviews

Today, I thought we could take a moment and look at one of those MVNOs that doesn’t usually get much attention: Selectel Wireless. This MVNO was originally partnered with Page Plus, but has since spiraled off into its own company. Like Page Plus, they offer Verizon services and their prices are actually pretty good. In addition to mobile phone plans, Selectel also offers a home phone plan and data options. Here’s an overview of what they offer:
  • $15 Plan – 30 day plan, 300 minutes, 300 text, 15 MB
  • $30 Plan – 30 day plan, 1300 minutes, 1300 text, 500 MB
  • $40 Plan – 30 day plan, unlimited talk, unlimited text, 200 MB
  • $55 Plan – 30 day plan, unlimited talk, unlimited text, 2 GB
  • $75 Plan – 1 year plan, 2000 talk, 2000 text, no data
  • Home phone plan – $17 per month, 1000 minutes
All cell phone plans include features like Voicemail, three way calling and call forwarding. They currently have a deal going on where you can get a free feature phone when you activate using a plan costing $30 or higher. The associate I spoke with said she didn’t know how long the promotion would last–likely until they ran out of inventory. Their phone lineup is pretty slim, but all the phones are discounted. I believe they offer BYOD for compatible devices as well, but as it’s Verizon I expect there are quite a few restrictions. Their MiFi plans are designed to be used with a hotspot, which you can get for free. They come in increments of $20 for 1 GB, $35 for 3 GB and $50 for 5 GB. Selectel Wireless’ website is  a little weird and is missing things like a “Contact Us” section as well as an “About Us” page. It’s actually a little tricky to navigate, in my opinion, but not impossible. They do have a contact number that is prominently displayed on their home page and at the bottom of every page as well as a “live chat” icon on every page. The associates I chatted with were very friendly, but I admit I haven’t had many dealings with this company. If you’ve used Selectel or know someone who has, let us know what you thought in the comments!  ]]>
