RadioShack to Launch MVNO for Vets

Today, as most of you know, is Veteran’s Day, when the whole country stops for a moment to thank all the men and women who are serving and have served our nation’s military in the defense of the country. So, it seems appropriate that today, we take a moment to look at a new mobile MVNO company that is as dedicated to serving veterans as the veterans are in serving our country. Defense Mobile, an MVNO launched by RadioShack last week, will be available exclusively to US military service members, veterans and their families, including those currently serving as well as active National Guard and Reserve members. The service is expected to launch nationwide in 2015 and will be available at more than 2,500 RadioShack locations nationwide and online. The organization is supported by a 100 percent veteran staffed member care organization, designed to reward veterans and military service members with lower prices, faster speeds and great deals. This MVNO uses AT&T and Sprint networks and includes several additional perks such as miliCASH, a mobile banking prepaid MasterCard that will grant rewards; miliSOURCE, an application that helps vets obtain veteran benefits and services from the A, States and Veteran Servcie Organizations; and miliMAIL, a free email service that proudly states the veteran’s affiliation to the branch of service they served. Plans are available on a no-contract, prepaid monthly basis and are available for both individuals and families. There are several different branches of Defense Mobile, including ARMYmobile, NAVYmobile, AIRFORCEmobile, MARINESmobile and COASTGUARDmobile. Here is a brief overview of their individual plans:
