PureTalk USA Adds Data, Lowers Price

PureTalk USA is an AT&T MVNO that launched in 2004. I don’t write about them a whole lot because, well, they’re not super notable. Their prices aren’t any lower or better than anyone else’s but they have a pretty good customer service reputation. And, more recently, they changed up some of their prices and data on a few of their plans. Here are some of the changes, which are in effect immediately:
• $19.90 Simple, Flex and Family Plan data add-on now includes 400 MMS and 1 GB of data (upped from 800 MB)
• New Unlimited $49.95 plan added (see below for details)
PureTalk USA has a pretty simple system for their plans, which might look a little complicated at first. Every plan comes with minutes, which are used for both text and talking. Voice minutes are 1 for 1 while 3 texts will equal 1 minute. Data packages are available for most plans, but will cost extra. Data add-ons are: $10 for 400 MB and 200 MMS or $20 for 1 GB and 400 MMS. Here is an outline of the available plans:
• Simple Plan (No rollover, data add-ons available)
• $5 for 80 minutes
• $10 for 250 minutes
• $15 for 500 minutes
• $20 for 1000 minutes
• Flex Plan (rollover, data add-ons available)
• $10 for 160 minutes
• Family Plan (no rollover, additional lines gain 70 extra minutes. Data add-ons available)
• $10 for 160 minutes
• $20 for 400 minutes
• $30 for 700 minutes
• $40 for 1100 minutes
• $50 for 1500 minutes
• Unlimited Plan (data included)
• $34.95 for unlimited talk and text, 500 MB data, 400 MMS
• $40.95 for unlimited talk and text, 1 GB data, unlimited MMS
• $49.95 for unlimited talk and text, 2 GB data, unlimited MMS
It’s worth noting that Prepaid Phone News reported that the 200 MB add-on (which was listed as 100 MB on their article) was going to be reduced from $10 to $4, but I haven’t seen that change on the PureTalk USA website, so I have not included it here. I’m not sure if the website simply hasn’t been updated yet or what’s going on with that. Dennis is normally pretty reliable, so I’ll keep an eye on it, and update the article if the change shows up.]]>
