Proven Wireless to Add LTE to Verizon Plans

While Verizon MVNOs can easily boast having access to the largest network in the United States, Verizon has a history of being a little stingy with its MVNOs in terms of offerings and LTE access. In the last couple of weeks several companies have added LTE, including all Tracfone companies and Selectel. And, I heard a rumor that Proven Wireless might be soon added to that list. Proven Wireless is yet another of those MVNOs that we don’t talk about much. Much like Red Pocket, it offers plans through all four of the major carriers and already offers 4G connectivity through its Sprint and T-Mobile networks. However, a customer service rep recently informed me that the company had plans to launch 4G for Verizon at the beginning of June, but was forced to push it back a week to work out a few bugs. While he wouldn’t commit to a specific date, he did say that it should be soon. Of course, it ought to be noted that most MVNO customer service reps aren’t the best informed and so any such queries ought to be taken with a grain of salt and treated as the rumors they are. Still, with Selectel also recently offering LTE, it seems incredibly likely that Proven will also have Verizon high speeds. If you’re interested in switching to Proven Wireless’ Verizon plans, here are your options:
  • $24.95 – 500 min, 300 text, 100 MB
  • $34.95 – 800 min, 300 text, 100 MB
  • $39.95  – unlimited talk and text
  • $49.95 – unlimited talk and text, 500 MB
  • $59.95 – unlimited talk and text, 1 GB
  • $69.95 – unlimited talk and text, 2 GB (advertised as unlimited data, but associates informed me the hard cap is at 2 GB, and throttling is not an option)
As you can see, the prices are, honestly, nothing really that impressive especially without LTE. However, if the company adds LTE, then it will at least be a little better. I haven’t used Proven as my carrier provider, but the associates I’ve spoken with have all been fairly helpful, albeit a little slow. If you’ve used Proven before, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the company! Share with me in the comments, and be sure to check back for more details on Proven’s Verizon LTE.]]>
