New Service for Seniors Launched

seniors mobile On Monday a new Sprint MVNO launched with the goal of helping seniors and those over 55 stay in touch with the loved ones and medical services that they need. Launched by Emveno, this “telemedicine MVNO” offers pay as you go and monthly phone services as well as 24/7 access to healthcare providers. Aptly named Seniors Wireless, the company offers no contract services to all and customers can either bring their own approved Sprint device or purchase one of four devices available. There is only one monthly plan option, which includes unlimited talk and text with 500 MB of data for $30. Smaller data-only plans are available starting at $5, or customers can choose to use a pay-as-you-go plan with a rate of $0.10 per minute/text/MB. However, what makes this company really different is the health offering, called Tele-MED. This 24/7 service costs an additional $30 per month and allows members to contact licensed professional medical personnel–doctors and nurses–for both emergency and non-emergency situations. The calls can be done via video or voice, and members can call as often as they want and talk for as long as they need. The TeleMed service is not available outside the US and is not available in Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, South Carolina, Missouri or Nebraska.
