MetroPCS gets LG Connect
posted by Joe on March 2nd, 2012 - 2:23 pm | MetroPCS

We’ve known since CES 2012 that MetroPCS was going to get the LG Connect 4G. That day has finally come. It’s Metro’s highest-end Android handset to date, featuring a 1.2GHz processor and a 5-inch screen. It does run Android 2.4 Gingerbread, but plenty of existing phones will get upgraded to 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich this year. The Connect could certainly rank among them. It will run you $349, but thanks to MetroPCS’s $30 mail-in rebate promotion you can get it for a net price of $319. It’s available in stores and at MetroPCS’s website.

Really. When will we see real news on real national coverage networks. I’d rather here about H20 , Simple Mobile, Page Plus then another boring phone from Metro or Cricket. There are too many areas they don’t have coverage in.

Well, I’ve had Metropcs since they started and their coverage has grown by leaps and bounds. Now the only time I don’t have coverage is when I’m in remote locations (such as camping)however, I always have text capability and all that for $50 a month (smartphone plan) with unlimited everything. I have no complaints regarding Service or Coverage… I just wish they would offer more high end phones.

Yes. MetroPCS needs more high-end phones. They only have two above average smartphones, the LG Esteem and this, especially ones running the latest versions of Android. Also, Metro really needs to push talks with Apple about the rumored no-contract iPhone. It’s great they have the best non-contract phone in the US (yes, the LG Connect 4G!), but it’s way behind the popular flagship phones like the iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy S3, and the HTC One X. Am I expecting too much?
