MetroPCS first to launch nationwide roaming
posted by Joe on November 10th, 2008 - 11:00 am | MetroPCS
It was just this past week that we heard about MetroPCS and Cricket sharing networks for free roaming. Soon afterward, Metro announced their new plan. There aren’t many surprises; most of the issues were covered in the initial press release. However, Metro is the first to the fray, as they begin offering their roaming plan today.
Now Metro customers will have the combined power of the Metro network and the Leap network. This stretches cross-country, covering over 300 cities. Metro will capitalize on the bevy of AWS markets Leap has rolled out this year, while Leap will eventually realize the Metro networks in New York and Boston.
The plan is available on Metro’s $45 and $50 plans, though it can be added to lesser plans for $5 per month. With all of the features included in the more expensive plans, though, customers might want to consider the $45 or $50.
