MetroPCS readying LG Optimus, Huawei Ascend

Waiting for an Android handset on MetroPCS? You might have to wait a bit longer than expected, but the delay will bring better handsets. The carrier was intending to carry the Kyocera Zio, the first Android handset to land on Cricket, but they hit a snag along the way. PhoneNews.com has the info. Apparently they purchased the Zio handsets with Android 1.6, which is by now a far outdated OS. The Cricket and Sprint versions of the device run Android 2.1. Metro, for its part, will launch two Android handsets later this year, both of which are better than the Zio.

someone told me the lg optimus would be available for sale on metro pcs on November 11th but i just now heard they are having in launch party on November 12th at the W hotel in Atlanta on November 12th. so when exactly in or if in November will the lg optimus be available for sale? o am desperately in need of an upgrade n cannot hold out any further

He’s right, the Lg Optimus and The Huawei Ascend are the newest additions to the MPCS family. The quote of the day is “will be here before Christmas” and “bye bye kyocera/sanyo” both around $200 bucks, lowest Andorid proces aroud on a network that IS NOW COVERING 90% of the U.S> thats BIGGER THAN SPRINT

I work for Metro PCS in Dallas. Today I went to the training on the Optimus Android 2.2 and it’s amazing!! We will have them by November 22 and I can’t wait because I’m definitely getting one.
