FreedomPop Cyber Monday Deals

FreedomPop had three different offerings for Black Friday shoppers, and those deals (which were advertised as one day only) have been extended to Cyber Monday, or until they run out of stock. The website still says “Black Friday! Today Only!” pretty much everywhere, but I checked and the offers are still available. Guess they’re too lazy to change the website. Anyway, here are the deals:

1. Freedom Liberty Tablet for $49.99 (reg. $149.99) plus free shipping. This 7 inch Android tablet doesn’t require a plan as FreedomPop allows 500 MB of data free every month. However, you can add additional data if you need more than that. It’s not a super fancy, nice tablet, but it will certainly get the job done.

2. One Month Free Service with Purchase of Discounted phone – FreedomPop is already pretty cheap, but they have four phones severely discounted: the ZTE Force for $89 (reg. $199.99), the Samsung Galaxy S3 for $139.99 (reg. $349.99), the Samsung Galaxy S4 for $269.99 (reg. $449.99), and the iPhone 5 for $299.99 (reg. $499.99). When you purchase one of these phones, you’ll get one month of unlimited talk and text and 500 MB of data completely free. If you don’t cancel the subscription, you’ll be charged $12 for the unlimited service. As a note, FreedomPop does allow for a limited amount of free service (around 200 minutes and 500 texts) so you will still be able to use the phone if you cancel the subscription.

 3. 4G Wireless Hotspot Devices – Last, but not least, you can get a hotspot device for up to 80% off, 2 GB of 4G internet free for the first month and FreedomPop Premier service for free. If you don’t cancel the subscriptions, however, you’ll be charged $20 to continue using 2 GB per month and $10 for the Premier service, which allows for data rollover, data compression, internet security, etc. FreedomPop allows for 500 MB of free internet per month, but for a hotspot, that doesn’t seem like it’s worth the time to me. Regardless, you can get a pretty good deal on a hotspot.

It is worth noting that FreedomPop devices are Sprint locked, and you will have to jump through some hoops to get them unlocked or, as FreedomPop calls it, ‘unassigned.’ I’m not 100% sure what the qualifications are to get the phone unlocked, however, so you might want to check with them before you buy if that’s a concern.]]>
