FAQ: Display Contact Info on Lock Screen

There are all kinds of protections and security in case your smartphone is stolen. You can remotely lock or even wipe the device to keep potential thieves from getting you r personal information. But what about if you lose the phone? Lock screens can prevent people from prying, but it also will stop a Good Samaritan from being able to return a lost phone. Fortunately, there are ways to display contact information on your device’s lock screen so that it can find its way back to you. Here are a few ways for Android and iPhones:

On an Android

  1. Launch the Settings App
  2. Select Security
  3. Tap Owner Info
  4. Enter whatever contact information you wish in the box
  5. Lock the phone to check.

On an iPhone

Method 1: Add contact information to Siri – This won’t show up on the home screen, but adding your contact information to Siri will allow people to get contact information without having the unlock passcode. Here’s how:
  1. Launch the settings App
  2. Select General and then Siri
  3. Scroll down and tap My Info
  4. Create yourself as a contact and select it.
  5. Activate Siri and ask “Who am I?” or “Who does this iPhone belong to?” to check
