Leap teams with Convergys for managed services
posted by Joe on January 7th, 2009 - 11:00 am | Cricket
This won’t be of note to most prepaid customers, but it’s worth noting that Leap Wireless, parent of Cricket Communications, has agreed to a deal with Convergys for the latter to manage Leap’s new billing system. What this means to the consumer, hopefully, is a stable pricing model. And, you know, peace of mind in knowing you’re getting billed correctly. A few quotes after the jump.
“We believe that the new state-of-the-art Convergys billing system will help address the scalability needs of our business,” said Dave Truzinski, senior vice president and chief information officer for Cricket. “We believe this system has capabilities that will improve the timeliness and accuracy of billing, enhance the speed to market for our innovative products and services and deliver an ‘always on’ customer service and sales environment. Convergys is a recognized leader in the migration of systems like these and we look forward to the improvements it will make in the way we serve our customers.”
Scalability in the billing system and “always on” customer service are good things. We’ll see how well Convergys delivers.
