Huawei to release Android handset on Cricket
posted by Joe on September 21st, 2010 - 7:30 am | Cricket

It wasn’t too long ago that we first heard of the Huawei IDEOS, an Andrid handset that could land at a number of U.S. carriers. A tri-band CDMA radio suggests Cricket and MetroPCS, though it’s not certain whether either of the carriers will pick it up. While it’s not the IDEOS, Huawei should have an Android handset ready for Cricket in November. PhoneNews.com reports that the device, yet unnamed, will come stock with Android 2.1 with upgrades to 2.2 and 3.0 coming in the future. It sounds like the device will cost between $129 and $179, an excellent price for a prepaid smartphone.
