I BOGHT THIS PHONE ONLINE AND IT WAS SHIPPED TO A DIFFERENT ADDRESS.. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS P.I.T.A. I HAD TO CALL 22 TIMES TO GET IN TOUCH WITH SOMEONE WHO COULD ACCESS MY DETAILS.. FINALLY THEY TOLD ME THAT THE PHONE HAS ALREADY BEEN DELIVERED AND THEY CAN STOP THE SERVICE.. BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER 25 $ FOR A NEW PHONE.. THAT'S REDICULOUS.

Cricket Paygo sucks! I have had the service for about 45 days. Initially I started off with the $2/day plan and things were good. Yesterday, I switched to the $1/day plan and was told that I would only be allowed to call local. I called a friend later whose number has the same area code as my number. Today, I was placing a call. My account is low and needs to be topped off so the automated system as of lately has been informing of that fact, but with placing a call today, my remaining balance was 80 cents. Now I recall that the long distance calls would cost me 10 cents per minute. "Ok" I say to myself "I didn't place any long distance phone calls". I call customer service and she tells me that I did call long distance...now the area code is the same as my area code, but the actual number prefix is not considered local for me she says. She can't explain why and proceeds to attempt to pawn me off on a local store. So I decide to call a store. I ask them about this issue and they tell me that I should call customer service. Well the first thing I told her was that I had called customer service and she tells me to call them. I just told you that customer service recommended I call a store. Clearly they don't care that they have put out false advertisement. I will be writing them to inform them of the issue as well as my consumer protection agency in my state. I am generally not a hell raiser, but my money is as important to me as their money is to them. I am a student so this service would have been perfect up til the point that I now realize they have lied to me. I should have listened to my sisters complaints of being charged for ringtones when she didn't sign up for the service. I would have been saved the trouble of $#!ty service.

Just purchased a cricket paygo phone this last saturday. Went with the one dollar a day plan. Used it saturday and sunday with little problems. today its monday and I received one call from an unfamiliar number, so I let it go to voicemail. I topped up a while later and checked my account balance. There was a dollar discrepancy so i called customer service. They had charged me a dollar for the call that I didnt answer.Im pretty disappointed already.
Merry Christmas and Bah hum bug !

PayGo now has monthly plans also. In the amounts of $40 and $45 per month. What I like most about PayGo is the abilty to switch among plans at will. When I'm in my home area it's the $1 a day plan when I know I'm going outside of it I switch to the $2 a day plan then back to the $1 when I return. Paygo only charges you when you use the service unlike some prepaid daily use plans that charge you per day whether you use the phone or not (Boost Mobile).
If you don't use your cell phone a whole lot PayGo is a good way to go.

I don't understand because my phone works better than all my phones in the Philly area which runs the AWS system.and paygo does a have customer service.you call the normal cricket 800 number and when you put your number in it will route you to paygo customer service.I go to the hood to buy my paygo refill cards and they don't charge me tax.so $30 a month for unlimited is the best you can get.also free text incoming is included.the saying is you get what you pay for and with cricket you get a lot more for $30 a month.all the people that complain are usually people that make it sound worse than it is but nine times out of ten they stay with cricket

Cricket is a low budget cell carrier. Full cost phones. Limited service. But it's cheap and the voice quality is a lot better than when they first started service. You're probably better off buying a used Cricket phone on Craigslist or Ebay and activating with them than buying one of their new full price phones. For some reason people don't seem to understand all of Cricket is PREPAY. CRICKET is NOT POST PAY never has been. You pay-in-advance. I guess their marketing of "giving" you the first month free makes people forget that they are paying for the next month in advance. If you have old CDMA phone you can get them "flashed" to the Cricket service/network for about 20-35 dollars saving you the cost of another phone.

I agree. Bought one for our 81 year old mother for Christmas, and it was a disaster. I had to take it to the only Cricket store, and they got on the phone with a tech for 30 minutes, supposedly cured the problem (every call she made she was told that the number she dialed was not a working number. I also had to put another $5 on the phone (which we discovered expired 3 days later). she made 2 calls then it did it again. I called and was assured the money was restored and good for 30 days. ha ha. gone 2 days later. I took the darn thing back to Walmart, but it was 2 months and $5.00 and alot of frustation later. I had trouble returning it, as it came up that it has previously been disabled, apparently while they were trying to get it to work at Cricket.
what a joke. it was for her safety while out at doctor appointments, and she never used it. I am going with Verizon this time.
