Cricket to start LTE roll out next week, add more markets in November
posted by Joe on October 11th, 2012 - 7:30 am | Cricket
It has been nearly 10 months since Cricket started its LTE test in Tuscon, Az. We haven’t heard much about it since — until now, that is. Company spokesman Greg Lund said yesterday that Cricket will launch LTE in one market next week. The market remains unnamed. Additionally, they will announce other markets in November, with an eye on covering 21 million POPs by year’s end. At first customers will be limited to the Huawei Boltz broadband modem, but Lund said that Cricket will introduce two LTE smartphones next month. He declined to comment on whether the iPhone 5, which Cricket offers, will run on this LTE network.
