Cricket rolls out service in the Windy City
posted by Joe on February 18th, 2009 - 8:30 am | Cricket
Bet your bottom dollar you’ll lose the blues in Chicago. Well, you will if you’re looking for a no-contract, unlimited calling phone plan. Leap Wireless has rolled out their Cricket service in the Windy City. This comes as part of their AWS expansion, which is expected to continue throughout this year. Now Chicagoans can experience the benefits of Cricket’s unlimited services, with plans starting at $25. Plus, as the Chicago Tribune says, the company’s PAYgo pay per day plans should be available as well.
The service isn’t limited to the city proper, of course. It will run from central Wisconsin through Chicago and down to northwest Indiana. Even more interesting is that the service will run underground on the Chicago Transit Authority train system.
Also on the underground trains, customers can expect plenty of advertisements for the service. MetroPCS just launched service in New York, and now they’re advertised on what seems to be every single subway car in the city. I expect Cricket would go with a similar campaign in Chicago, especially if it’s available underground.

They already have some train ads here. I also see a lot of billboards. Not to mention those stores…
