Cricket getting Android, BlackBerry this year
posted by Joe on March 24th, 2010 - 7:30 am | Cricket

There was a bit of disappointment when Sprint announced the Android-drive Motorola i1, but not on Boost Mobile. Just as quickly as the disappointment came, however, we got some shiny news from Cricket wireless. We first learned that they’ll cover more of the country. Later in the day, Phone Scoop learned that they will offer the recently announced Kyocera Zio, as well as a prepaid BlackBerry handset. This is excellent news, not only because it means better handsets for Cricket customers, but because both devices should cost less than $299. We’ll provide more details as they become available, but word is vague now. Expect both to be available later this year. In the meantime you can check out the Kyocera Zio, powered by Android.

Any update on this? Wouldn’t mind an official droid phone on Cricket to try out.
